My favourite thing about summer is the warmth and the sunshine. I feel cold for most of the year!

Looking after the grandchildren is easier in the summer when there is plenty to do outdoors

I love shopping in general and (hope people I know don't see this) the summer sales see me lightly dressed but warm, dry and contentedly browsing for Christmas presents to add to my stash. If I win this comp there will undoubtedly be a book for the hardest to please - including myself! Thank you, come winter I will be indoors reading!

My best thing about summer is picking the strawbwrries, raspberries and goosegogs from my garden

My favourite things about summer are the smells of Pittosporum on balmy May evenings, honeysuckle and roses in June and sweetpeas for the rest of the summer. Also the taste of freshly picked and podded peas from the garden, strawberries picked and eaten straight from the plant, warmed by the sun and the smell of tomato plants as you brush past them to pick the fruits.

I love that I don't feel cold all the time and that I don't have to wear socks in bed. I love to feel the sun on my face and that everybody just seems to be happier when the sun is out.

Books! Love books and love reading.
That is what I shall be doing this summer, especially after I have finished watching Wimbledon on TV, another of my summer musts. But I now have a lovely baby granddaughter to cuddle and to consider. What fun! Maybe more evening reading for me from now on smile

I love the early sunrise in summer. i love to be up as early as possible to feed the birds and have some time to myself. I also love the PYO fruit. I can gorge on strawberries and cream every day if I want.

I love the longer days and being able to sit outside with a good book and a glass of wine on warm summer evenings.

My favourite thing about summer? Waking up, pulling back the duvet and being WARM getting out of bed, getting dressed in 2 minutes, no multiple layers to wear and being able to let fresh air reach my feet in sandals. Bliss! sunshine

georgesgirl Wed 08-Jul-15 12:30:29

Listening to bird song and sipping Pimms on the patio - summer evening bliss!

victoria54 Wed 08-Jul-15 11:19:46

a day out at the coast is one of my favourite things to do over summer

imwoops Wed 08-Jul-15 11:04:55

When I'm out walking my neighbours are out more. People seem more sociable and stop for a chat. People tend to be more open and happy.

karenwhitt Wed 08-Jul-15 09:39:45

My favourite thing about Summer is the long holidays with no school runs to do, no homework for the children to complete, Relaxing time in each other's company, reconnecting as a family and doing all those things we love so much - walking the puppy, reading books in the garden, bouncing on the trampoline, a few games of tennis - .

I take the opportunity of being able to work at home and get up and start very early so that our afternoons can be free together.

Fun, laughter, sunshine and family.

Who could possibly want anything more?

The most special thing about summer for me is the early morning solitude in the garden. It's quiet, the light is intoxicating and I can see the sun rise gently. I love breathing in the fresh clean air and it makes me happy to start the day in such a positive frame of mind.
