My favourite thing about summer is the beautiful flowers in borders and hanging baskets in all the towns and villages round about and of course the sun.

My favourite thing about the summer is the longer days, the warmer weather and the sunlight to go in the garden with a good book or to have peaceful days outside. Also going abroad on holiday.

My favorite thing about the summer, is being able to get out in the garden and listen to the birds singing whilst I sit in the shade reading a book

The best thing about summer is the school holidays. Not having to get up at a particular time, sitting around with friends while our children play, going on picnics to the forest or the beach, outings in town. It's really family and friends time and I can't wait!

My favourite thing about summer is you don't have to wear so many clothes - it's warm. Also my husband has COPD and seems to breathe a lot better in the summer - probably the warmth. It's a relaxing time so meals are not so heavy either.

The lighter warmer summer evenings so I get to spend more time with the children

That's one hell of a collection. My bookcase is calling out for them!

My favourite thing about summer is sitting out on the patio in the sunshine, with a cup of tea, slice of cake and a book. With the dog next to me.

Blisss.

My favourite thing about Summer is dressing "lightly", not having to wear socks and most of all being able to devour beautiful, delicious fresh raspberries. And doing all this whilst reading a good book in the garden.

My favourite thing about summer is reading a good page-turner, enjoying the garden, and sipping a Pimm's.

Summer evenings after rain, when the sun breaks through again, raindrops sparkle on summer flowers, the unmistakeable fragrance of honeysuckle wafts intoxicatingly and a songthrush sings his heart out on the bough of a nearby cherry tree. Pure magic.

Spending time with both my Grandchildren in the garden or taking them out especially when we went to LEGOLAND

fmac Tue 07-Jul-15 14:26:03

Sitting in my `beer` chair in the garden, a good book and my favourite cold bottle in its holder. The sun is shining, grandchildren are not visiting and I know I do not need to work my usual nightshift. Ah bliss!
