Enjoying meals al fresco in the garden with family

I think perhaps my favourite thing about summer is watching Wimbledon, cheering Andy Murray on, with my feet up on the sofa and a refreshing G&T to hand - bliss....

Having time off work is definitely the best thing about summer!

Absolutely love the long daylight evenings. Summer means holidays so more time spent with family and friends. Summer food... Lots of fresh produce and long cool drinks. A garden full of blooming flowers. And my birthday too!

My favourite thing to do in the summer is to relax in a deck chair in a nice shady part of the garden, avoiding the sunshine with a good book, a jug of barley water and perhaps a cupcake for hours without a care in the world. Ah Bliss!

My favourite thing about summer is - Washing! Yes, you heard that correctly. I love that we wear less clothes, make less washing, I can dry it outside and it all gets put away within the same day.

The best thing about Summer is: Dining al-fresco and seeing all the 'grockles' (Slang in Bournemouth for tourists) queuing to get back home from Bournemouth... and knowing that I don't have to do that as I live here!!!

Love everything there is to love about The summer. Longer days, happier people, bbq's, going out without a coat, hearing children laugh whilst playing outside, seeing the lovely colours in the gardens, smelling freshly cut grass, eating an ice cream. Sitting in the garden with the family or just with a glass and a book. What is not to love about it. Let's enjoy it and be grateful that we can do so.

We enjoy walking round a lake locally, watching the ducks and swans, and their young as we enjoy a Mr Whippy ice cream!

It's just so nice to see the warmer weather and be able to spend more time outdoors - in the garden or on days out with the kids and grandchildren. Barbecues at weekends are another thing to look forward to in the summer.

Were you can sit in the garden of an evening, relaxing with hubby, drink in hand, watching the world go by.

hollystone Thu 02-Jul-15 11:29:48

Taking my Grandson to the Park to have fun. We go all year around but it is so much better when the sun is shining! Also, Hubby and I love to sit in the garden reading our latest book, as soon as we finish one it is passed on, and we are on to the next!
Walking the dog in the countryside too smile

Nothing beats laying on fluffy pillows in my outdoor hammock, swinging in rhythm to a chapter or two of my favourite "now" book.

nanaGill Thu 02-Jul-15 11:25:44

I love the long evenings, being out late when it is dark at ground level but there is still light in the sky when I go to bed.

juliedee Thu 02-Jul-15 09:33:29

the early mornings and lighter evenings, plus hopefully, the warmth of the sun on your skin

My favourite thing aboyt Summet is watching my garden come alive, with herbs, fruit trees and family of course!

emily13 Thu 02-Jul-15 09:07:50

Being able to be outside, being able to go out without having to put on lots of layers, and just not feeling cold is wonderful!

COG Thu 02-Jul-15 08:27:05

Great selection, something for everyone, guaranteed for a quiet hour or two as everyone settles down in the garden after a summery family meal

Nandee Thu 02-Jul-15 08:25:14

I love the longer lighter evenings., spending more time in my garden.
Despite having a small suburban garden I am privileged to have a pond and spend ages just watching the birds having a drink, the tadpoles emerging into frogs, the newts and dragonflies. This year I have a DGS to share the excitement of frogs jumping in and out of the pond. I just love it!
