Getting up really early and going for a walk before anyone else is up and about.

I love a nice walk in the countryside and a picnic with the family.

I love the longer evenings in the summer and the opportunity to get out more in nature.

Spending time in the countryside - today I went for a lovely long walk along the Norfolk Broads. And the best thing - it's free!!

Strawberries, Raspberries and Blueberries picked from the garden. Husband watering up as I sit about 7 pm in my warm garden with a glass of chilled wine reading Grey.

Living on a very northern little island, i have to say the long light nights are the best thing about summer. It just doesn't get dark - magical!!

My favourite thing about summer....that holiday feeling that infuses everything you do whether it's a weekend family lunch outside or the walk to the shops in balmy air to putting your book down for a second to think about it and lying daydreaming under a blue sky....

More time to enjoy my garden, both working in it and sitting in it. Watching beautiful sunsets - so much better in the summer and spending more hours doing what I want in daylight. Such joy and, of course, in this idyllic place it only rains during the hours of darkness!

The long beautiful Summer evenings where you can sit out on the patio chatting until late, glass of wine in hand & the scents of BBQs, cut grass & fence varnish drifting on the light breeze.

What I like about summer is that everything seems brighter; the trees and grass appear greener, flowers more colourful, the mundane tasks less tedious; all seems more cheerful and positive.

Lotie Sat 20-Jun-15 19:18:09

Everyone seems to be more cheerful in the summer! I love the long days and watching the grandchildren having fun outside - I join in as well!

Summer is savouring the endless vista up the Abermaw estuary and imagining soaring over the rocky crags with the gulls on a long light evening. Then along the shore to see the waves bring warm waters to the sand. All this and freedom days with lazy mornings and lovely afternoons with friend and family.

carowood Sat 20-Jun-15 18:54:15

My favourite thing is the long hours of daylight plus the sunshine of course

Sweetviolet Sat 20-Jun-15 18:45:24

I love seeing the bees and butterflies flying around the flowers.

AnnB Sat 20-Jun-15 18:15:12

For me it's the LIGHT! Lighter clothing, longer days and the beautiful sunshine when we get it..remember those sunny days when we were little..they seem to happen all over again when the grandchildren are in the garden! Let's enjoy!

annb21 Sat 20-Jun-15 16:21:10

daisylife Sat 20-Jun-15 15:52:34

Choosing my books for a long awaited summer holiday. I still take paperbacks with me. At least five of them! There is nearly always a small library at the hotel to exchange and interesting to see what other people brought as their poolside/beach paperback. Especially nice with a long, cool G and T!

rosemary55 Sat 20-Jun-15 15:21:29

Best thing about summer has to be the longer days, less clothes meaning less washing, using all that extra time laying on my hammock reading and dozing.wink
