The best thing i love about summer is when the sun is out and it's nice and warm, everybody is so much nicer and they have the time to stop and chat instead of haring about.

I love summer because I find it so relaxing to spend even a short while outside, either playing with animals, doing a bit of gardening, or sitting out and enjoying a book whilst eating lunch.

The best thing about summer is all the amazing books that are available to read sitting in the garden or taking on holiday and lazing on the beach. You can't beat a great book.

I love the summer because I just love going to summer fair's. It reminds me of my younger self going around to different summer fairs and enjoying myself with my family. We did not have the money to go on fancy holidays so the summer fair was the highlight of our summer holidays. We thoroughly enjoyed those times in those happy bygone days. To this day I still attend the local primary school fair every year and I now enjoy mixing with the different cultures and always play the tombola.

Some nice warm weather and long days

No heavy winter coats, no boots, no thick jumpers, no scraping the ice off the car windows, saving on the energy bills the list is endless.

Long, light evenings; open windows; fresh air. All in all, blowing away the cobwebs.

my favourite thing about summer is being able to take kids for nice walks on the beach, teaching them to ride bikes, paddling in the sea, having ice cream, driving to work in the light smile

I love that it's light when I walk to the local swimming pool at 7am and that I don't have to layer up before I leave the house!

I love the smell of flowers, the long days and carefree feel to summer. It's the best season. Great to spend the day in the garden or park reading. Perfect!

I like the fact that other people seem happier and more smiley in the summer.

Wow Fabulous! I love reading!

The best thing about summer ? The wonderful long evenings, sitting outside with a book in one hand and glass of chilled white wine in the other!

valleysgirl Fri 19-Jun-15 17:47:47

Automatically getting up 2 hours earlier than usual to do any chores before a glorious lazy day in my garden, on a sunbed , with a book and a picnic lunch, feeling the sun's rays warm me through and through, and hoping to sport a nice tan to show off my new dress or to go on holiday.

This is my FREE feel-good factor. smile

Everyone slows down and takes time to enjoy the sunshine

An icy cold glass of white wine on a balmy summer evening in the garden with a good book.

GrannieAnnie123 Fri 19-Jun-15 17:12:18

I was brought up in the heat of an African sun so for me the best part of an English summer, is the feel of damp green grass beneath your toes. A day of bright sunshine , sitting in the garden listening to chattering blackbirds, the hum of bees and a book that you can't put down!

Andrea1 Fri 19-Jun-15 17:09:35

My favourite thing about summer is having a holiday with family and also picking all the fruit and veg on our allotment that we have spent the spring planting and watching grow.

Reading a book outside, either in the garden or on the beach. To sit quietly bathing in the warmth of the sun, with a soft, gentle cooling breeze, but not so much that it disturbs my pages. A long cool refreshing fresh juice or coconut juice tinkling with crisp ice cubes. A soft comfortable relaxing chair and just my own company. Nobody else to have to entertain with conversation, nobody whose demands I have to meet like the hubby or grandchildren. Just me, summer and a book, bliss that money can't buy smile
