When my children were younger I was always happy at the prospect of having them home for the long summer holiday. Now in the summer I love wandering down to the allotment with an excited grandson in tow and collecting the harvest.

When the sun comes out, people smile, stop and chat, relax and look as if they are glad to be alive smile

Wow, that is a fantastic collection!

My favourite thing about summer is sitting in the garden with a good book. If I can pick some strawberries and snack on them as well that is a bonus.
