It has to be the warmer weather and lighter evenings and, of course, it is holiday season too!

I love the light. I spring out of bed and have my coffee in the garden listening to the day awakening. I also get so much more done; weeding, harvesting on my allotment with my husband. I can return home and either cross stitch or read by natural light. I feel happy.

Going to the beach on long evenings.

Long, light days. Opening all the windows to let warm, fresh air flow through the house. Being outside without layers of clothing. Bare feet on cool grass or paddling in the sea. Soft fruit and crunchy salads. All in all the contrast with other seasons.

Although my weekdays are filled with work, I long for the weekends: Long, lazy sunny days, sat in the garden with a good book, a cup of tea and a nice piece of cake (chocolate of course !!)

My favourite thing about summer is just spending more time outdoors. Sitting in the garden just listening to the wildlife and watching my cats chasing flies...... and of course, relaxing in the sun with a good book.

Best thing about summer is feeling the warmth of the sun on me while I potter in the garden - taking frequent tea breaks when I sit in the deckchair and read another chapter of my book!

My favourite thing about summer is the sunshine - when we actually see it! :-)

I love the long summer nights, I go to bed early to read because I have a degenerated spine. The smell of new mown grass is lovely and the flowers in our garden all come to life giving a lovely display and a beautiful scent.

Warmth, the smell of flowers, laughter in the garden, the song of birds and light evenings to relax in the garden after work.

poshpink Mon 13-Jul-15 18:45:43

Warmer weather, lighter nights, a good book and a glass of wine.

I love just sitting in the garden watching the birds flying about and feeding their little ones.

JANH Mon 13-Jul-15 18:24:41

Just to be able to go outside and enjoy the warmth, beautiful flowers and good company. Ideal, if it would only stop raining long enough for me to enjoy those things that I love.

xymalf Mon 13-Jul-15 18:14:02

Wow - what a prize. I thrive in the summer, I suffer from SAD during the winter months and this impacts on my family and friends. So I love the summer heat, and can feel my spirits rising when the days get longer and warmer.

ooma Mon 13-Jul-15 17:34:55

Breathing the in summer fragrances, roses, jasmine, honeysuckle to name a few

My favourite thing about summer is the annual hope that the sun will shine and I will be able to wear all my new sandals, that I keep buying and never wearing because its never sunny enough! I also love having lunch in the garden and going on holiday.
