Warmer weather - I hope, BBQ's with friends and family and enjoying all the hard work put into the garden.

The best things about summer are being able to get out in the garden without getting wet! Watching the plants grow whilst being visited by all kinds of bees & butterflies. Sitting in the sun and enjoying the view and a glass of something!

my favorite thing about summer is being able to put the washing out and getting it dry before it rains, and knowing even if it rains it will dry again quite quickly!

What a wonderful collection of books to win.

My favourite thing about summer is the really long, light days we get - so much more time in the day to do things, and the light and sunshine make me feel so much happier and more optimistic than the dark days of winter which can be quite depressing

Chilling in the garden catching the sun

Long hours of daylight, summer fruits; peaches, nectarines, strawberries, raspberries, the list is almost endless......and of course the excuse to sit in the garden with a G&T, and/or glass of wine, or Pimm's. The procession of garden flowers with the bees collecting nectar.......and Wimbledon!!!

The long days, doors and windows open,ice-cream,strawberries with honey yoghurt, skirts instead of jeans, floaty summer tops. The best thing of all though is walking my lovely dog through the fields and stopping to watch butterflies and look at the trees and flowers. Its the simple things that make life so wonderful.

Whoever compiled this list of summer reads is a genius…!! I have had my eyes on nearly all of the books.

I know summer has truly arrived when it’s warm enough to sit in the garden on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, hubby has disappeared to the village green to watch his local club play a bit of cricket, I’m sitting in the garden with a glass of Pimm’s in one hand reading a wonderful book - usually one recommended by Gransnet. Absolute bliss…!!

Summer - feeling the sun on my (well protected) skin, eating alfresco, taking a gift of a bouquet of roses from my garden to a friend, feeling smug after a session weeding and dead heading, enjoying a chilled glass if Sauvignon blanc while I enjoy the fruits of our labours in the garden. Saying " Life is good" every day.

The grey skies and the constant, incessant, persistent drizzle which makes a British summer unique in all of the world (universe?).

Spending time with my daughters cat whilst she and my grandson jet to the other side of the world. Then hopefully a little time with them themselves when they get back and disappear back into their normal lives

My favourite thing about summer is waking up to nice, light mornings.

My favourite thing about summer is that my 3 grandsons from America come to stay for 6 weeks - my house is turned upside down and chores go out of the window but we have great fun and read all the books I buy during the year for them... I buy all the great summer reads so as soon as they go home I can immerse myself in a good read and my collection of books often lasts me until Christmas!
We try not to leave England in the summer as this country has so much to offer from May to October and I hate to miss the beautiful stages of the garden through that time.

Light mornings and evenings, birds and butterflies, a good book sat in the garden with a glass of fizz while the barbeque grills a selection of fish and meat, family gatherings not having to huddle up inside, GC playing outside inside of being glued to their iPhones/iPads or television, and of course glorious sunshine which radiates happy smiling faces all round! sunshine sunshine

We live next door to a school, the best thing about summer is the children are not there! I know this sounds grumpy but, a bit of peace and quiet is lovely!
