My all time favourite book is Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews. I have read it 3 times over the last few years. I love how it is a part of a sequel of books.....all of which are so good.

Wild swans: Three Daughters of China. by Jung Chang.

This is a fantastic tale of three extraordinary women - A grandmother, mother and daughter. It takes you through three generations from the Boxer Rebellion, to the Peoples Revolution and the Cultural Revolutions. Wild Swans will bring you on a journey of love and hope. I could not put it down.

The Da Vinci Code is my favorite book ever, so good there are no words to describe this book. Action pact adventure it made me want to go to Paris and look at all the DA vinci paintings, The author packs so much info into this book its unbelievable and if you don't read it you miss the clue and your instantly confused, so when i was reading it i read carefully to understand it fully. I was also fascinated about the Jesus and him continuing the bloodline to descendants, its a topical thing and probaly we will never know the truth but sure was book i will never find again

Hard to decide but i think it has to be Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel, it is a fabulous book and the first of the Earths Children series. The detail are amazing and it took 31 years to complete the whole series. This first book is followed by Valley of the Horses, The Mamouth Hunters, Plains of Passage, The Shelters of Stone and The Land of Painted Caves, all in all an amazing series that I have read countless times.

My fave book is to kill a mockingbird, I love scouts transitition as she grows up and makes sense of the world. A great lesson in empathy.

My favourite is The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell. I love how he tells the story from the perspective of 4 protagonists. It's a romance, a thriller, a mystery and a tragedy, set in multicultural 1940s Alexandria.

My favourite book is The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher, which I read as it first came out in the 1980s, and after that I enjoyed all of her other novels as well.

I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed 'Elizabeth is missing' by Emma Healey. Wonderfully written, poignant story about dementia but with a darkly humorous angle. Highly recommend!

Brideshead Revisited. I love it for the beautiful prose, fantastic set pieces, and emotional extremes of a family torn apart by religion.

I loved the book Us by David Nicholls. I t was such a bitter sweet book about a marriage breakdown and I found it so moving and realistic.

My favourite book has to be Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. An epic tale of drama and intrigue; set in the historical period of the Tudors.
Without doubt an egde of your seat, page turner - that I have read and re-read several times.

Lorenzo Carcaterra- Gangster. I think i have read this book a hundred times. Its a deep book and it shows even gangsters care.

My recent favourite book is Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. This book made me cry and laugh at the same time. The story is thought provoking and heartbreaking, a truly inspirational read.

If I had to choose just one book I think it would be The Shadow Of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It is good old fashioned gothic novel.

Set in Barcelona just after the Spanish Civil War it has the feel of a gothic ghost story. Threatening crumbling mansions, dark damp prison cells. It has evrything this sort of novel should.

It reminds me of the type of novels written in the late 19th century. The 400 pages flew by in no time.

It is a shame that it is not a better known book. I suspect it may be becuase it is a Spanish author and translated into English. However, the translation is good and there are no clues that it wasn't written in English to start with.

My first interests in books started when I was a child.I was 4/5 years old when the teacher produced this book titled " Wind in the willows ".She began to read extracts every afternoon,I was captivated with reading ever since.

My favourite book has got to be "The Secret". In fact, I think it's time for another read!

I enjoy John Grisham's books but my favourite is The Firm. It is a gripping thriller that I can read over and over again

The Empty Chair by Jeffery Deaver – he literally leads you up the forest path, round in circles & back down again! Amazing Thriller 

Heidi, I can still remember the description of toasted cheese that grandfather made. The friendship between Heidi and Peter was so deep and the love for grandfather for the little girl means even more now I am a grandparent

It has to Agatha Christie's And Then There None, a classic piece of misdirection, The queen at her best.

I love to re-read the Hebridean novels of Lillian Beckwith every time we go on holiday to Skye, Islay or Bute (which we try to do every 3 or 4 years). She writes about a far simpler time and her characters seem like old friends now.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams - I just love it and the rest of the " trilogy in five parts"

My favourite book is The Silver Touch by Rosalind Laker. It is the true story about a woman who has a very rough start in life, finds love, has problems, overcomes them, has more problems and becomes more famous in a man's world than her husband and sons who are all gold/silversmiths. Fascinating about her life and the period that she lived in and totally absorbing to me.

My favourite book is Lord of the Flies, I've read it as a child and an adult and realise different things each time
