Can anyone recall a book that I so enjoyed when I was 7 or 8. It was set in the English countryside. The narrative was progressive - the reader had some destination or object to find. Each page gave a choice or choices of which page to read next so the story changed every time I read it.

Thank you Mumsy for your research.
I read this particular book when I was 7 in 1942 so these books are too recent. The illustrations were rather similar to the much later Ladybird Janet and John series.
