Historical novel set in beautiful Corsica.

Has anyone read The Corsican Widow or The House at Zaronza by Vanessa Couchman? I love the historical and geographical settings of these books. I was aghast at the patriarchal society and the lack of women's rights. Both books great reads in different ways.
Would love to know what readers think.

Vanessa Couchman has also a book of short stories if you want to dip into her work. I also enjoyed these but read them very quickly. Think it's only 1.99 on Amazon for Kindle.
