It actually has been discussed very recently ( if you search you should find it) .

Our local very small library is a hub for our village offering everything from coding for kids and computers for seniors to Lego classes , bop toys and Knit and natter .

It’s a real resource for us.

Yes! yes! yes! that's to using my local library, I've renewed my acquaintance with mine a little while ago. I agree, they are wonderful.

I'm following you around Ealdemodor Welcome if you are new to GN, and again "yes" libraries have been discussed and quite recently, but I don't think that should preclude you, as a newbie, from introducing the subject again.

It's good to promote the use of libraries again. My local library has just had the computers replaced with new models for public use. Books and magazines can be downloaded and the monthly book chat group is very lively

Lots of libraries where I live- I just learned that the tiny library in the neighboring village used to be a market-

In the little town where I grew up, the library was in the lower level of a school- I loved going there on summer days, it was painted dark green and being half way underground remained cool- And it smelled of books ..

We have a relatively new library, we use it alot.

Yes we have a wonderful library. It has just been refitted. New sofas in reading area etc.looks great and the staff are very knowlegable and helpful.

Yes ours has (as well as books) book bug songs and stories for babies and toddlers, computers, printers, local and national newspapers with back copies, forms for bus passes, grants etc, hearing aid batteries and is in local high school so groups of youngsters use it throughout the day. Probably lots more but that's what I use it for as well as borrowing books. There is also a Costa right beside it and a well for filling water bottles. Loads of classes going on too as it is in community hub.

I have alway loved libraries since I was 12 years old. In my village we have a mobile library service which I have used for 23years. Other villagers have joined and left though and for the last 5 years I am the only one from this village. It is very sad that inspite of notices everywhere others do not come forward. The van only stops for 20 minutes on every fourth Tuesday at 12 o’clock. It contains a good choice of books and for me I can order the books I want to read on their website and they will be on the van waiting for me. I can also use the BorrowBox App on my IPad to read ebooks or listen to audible books all free. It is absolutely brilliant service. Plus there are other apps where I can read newspapers and magazines of all kinds. Well done Cornwall Libraries.

I go to the games club at our library. We play Scrabble, dominoes, cards, jigsaw puzzles etc. Plus a natter and a cup of tea and a biscuit. A really enjoyable 2 hours.
And of course I borrow books, e-books and e-magazines. I would be lost without our library.

Have always loved libraries - joined as a child and have borrowed books regularly for over 50 years. I got library cards for both of my children when they were little, too. ( Both still read but tend to buy rather than borrow!)
I used to love browsing and buying in bookshops or buying the Richard and Judy Book club recommendations from WH Smith. Now, as I have retired early ( and a few years before ,]my state pension kicks in) the library is even more important to me. If I see recommendations on line, I reserve these (also online) - its like a birthday when I get the notification that the book is ready to collect! I can also call in at any time now I am not working and don't have to squeeze a visit into what were very busy weekends. I hope to introduce my grandchildren to the library soon too!

We have had all library hours cut due to Council cuts. I support and try to promote our local library whenever I can. Im frightened if we don't use it, we lose it.
