Anyone else read this book. Good old fashioned yarn and mystery. The characters are drawn vividly and it evokes the late nineteenth century brilliantly. The author wrote The Thirteenth Tale which was serialised a few years ago. Can imagine this book being serialised.

Good to know, I’m looking forward to reading this one, loved her last one.

We had ' Once upon a river' for our book group last month. I loved it and didn't really want it to end. It also made me want to visit the area and find the locations, which were all vividly described. The characters were fascinating though I did have to make a list at the start of who each one was and where they lived.
I recommend it.

Thanks for this recommendation. I thoroughly enjoyed the Thirteenth Tale so will look out for this one.
