How many others would be interested in reading Harry & Meghan's biography as I would ?

merlotgran Mon 04-May-20 21:43:48

Bridgeit, They need publicity. There's a book to sell.

Bridgeit Mon 04-May-20 21:41:13

I don’t think they put themselves in the papers, the papers make money from feeding the appetite of the readers.

? grannypiper. I like it

grannypiper Mon 04-May-20 18:50:02

Dim & Sparkles do L.A.

HootyMcOwlface Mon 04-May-20 18:30:49

Yes soon be in the charity shops when they reopen Alishka think the same thing happened to David Cameron's book.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind should there be another toilet roll shortage.

maddyone Mon 04-May-20 18:21:49

I wish this Duchess would accept her situation with good grace. After all, it’s the situation she created and apparently wanted herself. Every time I pick up the iPad there they are in the news section. They’re even in the online Guardian shock

Jabberwok Mon 04-May-20 17:58:40

I think the D of W was very naive! Obviously the RF weren't going to give her an HRH-hardly! I think the Duchess realised this and accepted it with a good grace. He of course couldn't.

Jabberwok Mon 04-May-20 17:56:11

That's true Annie, but he didn't broadcast it to the whole world on multiple occasions!

Anniebach Mon 04-May-20 17:33:41

When they announced (they love announcements) they didn’t
know they would lose the HRH.

He followed this with the ‘just call me Harry), he is angry,

the Duke of Windsor accepted all but was deeply hurt that
Wallis couldn’t be a HRH.

merlotgran Mon 04-May-20 17:01:02

Apparently they chose the two writers, Riverwalk so it's an authorised biography.

They probably dictated it. grin

Riverwalk Mon 04-May-20 16:43:26

It's not an autobiography is it?

Anyone can write a biography about a famous person/people - are PH & MM involved in publishing this book does anyone know?

Jabberwok Mon 04-May-20 16:31:53

What is he escaping to though?! A celebrity life in LA? I can't believe that's particularly appealing!!

Callistemon Mon 04-May-20 16:14:40

With privilege comes responsibilities.

I don't think either of them understand that. Although I think perhaps Harry understood that but didn't want the whole package and thought Meghan offered an escape.
However, perhaps reality is going to be rather different from his expectations.
Did he learn nothing from the past, ie great great uncle David?

Jabberwok Mon 04-May-20 16:08:52

It could be the loss of those military titles as well as HRH! Why P.H seemed to think he could cherry pick what he could and couldn't (wouldn't!) do is typical of an extremely over indulged, spoilt pandered very rich young(ish) man. Being brought down to earth has been something of a culture shock. Welcome to the real world Harry, to a world where you can't always have what you want when you want it!

EllanVannin Mon 04-May-20 15:56:16

I've wondered that too Annie. They must have been miffed to lose that as a trademark. Serves them right, we can't always have our cake and eat it.

Gummie Mon 04-May-20 15:54:28

You lot crack me up ? so funny. Brilliant

Anniebach Mon 04-May-20 15:39:58

Is it revenge for losing the HRH ?

Jabberwok Mon 04-May-20 15:06:01

Freedom from what? A pampered life at someone else's expense, first class travel anywhere in the world, not an ounce of worry about health, education or anything else, a beautiful home paid for by the tax payer; Paying bills? Family and tax payer, again take care of that! What the hell are these two on about?

SueDonim Mon 04-May-20 15:04:16

Hahaha, Sparklefizz! grin

merlotgran Mon 04-May-20 14:23:32

Cheer up, folks. Meg's thinking of relaunching her defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.

In it she shares some of her favourite things, food, travel, fashion, beauty, politics and inspirational women. So just like Gransnet really but without our wisdom and humour grin

DH got all excited until I pointed out that Top Gear hasn't offered her a job.

Sparklefizz Mon 04-May-20 14:13:38

Jabberwok It's far worse than the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The Duke certainly didn't trash his family in public by writing rubbish books, referring to his family as toxic, or deliberately humiliating his brother and his family, or trashing us parents. These two are quite beyond me!

I totally agree.

SueDonim I love the "Free Willie" comment. That's what's got him into this mess in the first place. grin He's been too free with it.

FoghornLeghorn Mon 04-May-20 14:11:20

This is too funny, feeling sorry for the Royal
Family...children are hungry, people are losing their jobs, their houses , people are dying
I would suggest that you save your sympathy for those most deserving of it
They are adequately catered for

Don’t know about you Dolly but I’m capable of feeling sympathy for more than one person at a time.

FoghornLeghorn Mon 04-May-20 14:07:49

Finding Freedom! How bloody dramatic. Anyone would think they were Nelson Mandela on Robben Island. Imo, the pair of them are pathetic. I really wish the media would take them at their word and give them all the privacy they desire. Or say they do. ?

EllanVannin Mon 04-May-20 14:06:38

They need something to do----like a proper job !

maddyone Mon 04-May-20 13:45:19

Jabberwok
I agree with you again. I wish these two would just disappear and get on with the ‘private’ life they said they wanted. I would never buy or read the book. I wouldn’t buy it because I don’t want to give them so much as a penny in profit, and I wouldn’t read it because I simply don’t think they’ve got anything remotely interesting to say.
