Suggestions on new type of book genre

I love Thrillers, but enjoy a more normal gentle style Fiction. I have discovered a couple recently. Phaedra Patrick who has written some excellent books, the one I found most interesting was The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper. This was a fascinating story very intriguing and so much charm and character I felt I was living the story along with him. Katie Fforde is another author I have enjoyed very light hearted romantic lines but not slushy. She has such a way with words and places of interest where she meets. Shari Lapena is a good author if you like a crime novel, this an an author I have read quite a few of her books and really enjoyed them all.
