How's this for a quick turnaround?

This morning at 1113 I e-mailed a short story to People's Friend magazine. At 1501 this afternoon I received a rejection by e-mail. PF do tell writers making submissions that a response can take up to 12 weeks so I did not expect to hear anything for ages. I'm not too disappointed, I know it is tough to get work accepted. The email included advice to read the PF guidelines as well as several of their printed stories. Naturally, I have already done this. Ah well, I shall persevere!

It means they’re inundated. They didn’t read it.

Check it carefully with the guidelines and resubmit in a few months time.?

Peasblossom, I'm sure that you're right. I remember (and still feel guilty) casting a very quick glance over 50-odd CV's, to select five to read properly!

Peasblossom - I reckon you're right. In fact, I feel a bit better about it now! Thank you.
