Books far better than the series.

We’ve also read most of his books and enjoyed the TV series, 72 is no age, he’ll be missed.

That’s a shame. DH loved his books and I read them after him.

The DCI Banks TV series wasn’t a patch on the books.

Agreed that the books are better than the series. Stephen Tomlinson is a good actor so I don’t know why he didn’t suit the role, but he just didn’t. I wanted to enjoy the series but always realised I wasn’t concentrating and had missed something important. I did the same with Vera, and stopped bothering with that, too.

I have almost all his books but I didn’t like the films. Another sad loss. RIP Peter Robinson.
