To be published in January. Oh dear ?

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Oct-22 21:09:46

It appears that for some talking about a book that's not yet been published is worth 20 pages Geordiegirl, or a mere 6 if you do as suggested by Callistemon and change your settings to 100 posts per page.

I’m struggling to understand what is meant by ‘Meghan had a middle class upbringing’ .
I’m no expert, but I associate m.c in the way that’s suggested here, with financial and emotional stability. That’s miles away from meghan’s experience.
Thomas Markle’s other children are hardly paragons of virtue or stability. Meghan seems to have inherited/.benefitted from Doria’s genes and influence.

Glorianny Sun 30-Oct-22 19:27:37

As for the how well TM was doing in 1990. By 1991 he hd filed for bankruptcy
To start, Thomas Markle filed twice for bankruptcygrinnce in July 1991 and then again in February 1993. Interestingly, his July filing may have been dismissed in December of the same year since the later schedules don’t reflect it as being discharged. The bankruptcy in 1993 also took over four years to be discharged, which is usually only typical of a Chapter 13 filing or a very drawn out Chapter 7.

Yes, I'm sure you're right Lathyrus. Everyone else is wrong, but you're right.

I always preferred Denny's. Great pancakes. Plus I'm a vegetarian. 😉

As Thomas Marke said “She had the salad bar, but she had the meal too.”

Obviously recollections vary😬

Isn't that in the same article where he says she shouldn't call herself a Duchess. Even although she is, actually, a Duchess? And where he says he wants to take Harry on because Harry would just run away from him?

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm convinced.

Oh well, I’ll just go on my own experience of taking family to eat in the Sizzler in the same period as the Markles would have been there.

I expect the Americans could eat till they dropped at the salad bar for 5 dollars and the Brits got given the menu that said

You could only have it if you bought the entree

My recollections don’t vary😬

Smileless 2012 - but people aren’t talking about the book. No-one has read it yet! They might be talking about the fact that it exists but that’s not worth 20 pages. Most of the rest is snide speculation about two people that nobody on here knows! We don’t know them!

If you change your settings to 100 posts per page, it only runs to 6 pages, Geordiegirl1 wink

Sorry to disappoint you as I know you just hate to be wrong but it is you getting your information from untrustworthy sources. Not everything on Google is gospel you know.

As for Meghan’s mother being in prison? That’s something you’ve obviously found in whatever untrustworthy sources you get your information from. I have never said that or heard or read anything pertaining to it. However, I have found something on YouTube regarding the non lottery win but it won’t link on here for some reason so I shall quote Tom Bower - ”The end of 1990 was a good time for the Markles. Through hard work, Thomas was flush with money. Twenty six years later, to extract a payment from an eager journalist, Tom junior invented the story that his father had won $750,000 in the California State Lottery. There was no lottery ‘win’ but Thomas did give Tom Junior money to start a flower shop and bought Samantha a car. Meghan’s school fees were easily affordable for him.”

Tom Bower is meticulous with his research; I have read a few of his biographies and I know Richard Branson sued and lost and so did Robert Maxwell. His book ‘Revenge’ hasn’t attracted any lawyers from across the pond so far!

As for your claims, Glorianny I think you’ll find Wiki is being edited by people in possession of the facts. You claim Meghan’s parents split when she was 6 - wrong. It was when she was 2.

These untrustworthy sources eh? hmm

Actually I said they divorced when she was 6 which is true. They separated when she was 2.
Sometimes things take time.
Not particularly bothered if there was or wasn't a lottery win.
But I think 3 bankruptcy filings by your dad and 1 by your mum don't show that you had a financially secure middle class upbringing. They show a family unable to manage money well.

Callistemon21 Sun 30-Oct-22 19:14:47

I'm not following the salads or bras references 🤔

But don't worry, please don't bother to explain, anyone.

I thought Doria was just a normal woman who is now a yoga teacher who brought her daughter up as a single Mom. Surely that much is true.

I'm sure if Doria had been in prison her daughter would not have been allowed to marry Harry anyway

Why do people have to be horrible about her Mom? her Dad's elder children act outside of the law, surely the finger pointing should be there and considering Doria's family were historically owned by slave traders that in itself should give all your heads a wobble ffs

I think she was a qualified social worker too.
She couldn't have worked as a social worker if she'd had a criminal record.

She always seems so dignified, a lovely woman.

Ohh, I've been googling in the dull 30 minutes before Strictly.

Branson lost to Bower because Bower's side said that he published what his opinion was, and his opinion was honestly held. In other words, I thought it was true, I really did, m'lud

Oh yes this has already been covered Volver. He spoke about people pulling back after pressure being brought to bear. He stands by every word. As he said “they know where I am if anyone wishes to bring the lawyers in”

Being wrong really does get to you doesn’t it?

I don't rate Tom Bower not a very honest writer

A biography about the Labour leader systematically distorts the truth writes Peter Oborne

Jeremy Corbyn and the truth about Tom Bower's book

There's a reason you can't explain it the way you want it to be Lathyrus.

volver Sun 30-Oct-22 18:22:40

Oh, ok. Let me get this right then.

The sources you use, such as You Tube, are unimpeachable.

Sources anybody else uses are worthless, and Bower's sources have all been leaned on by dark forces.

Ok. Got it. 😏

You're starting to sound a bit as though you're clutching at straws. "But...but...It's Meghan! She must have been lying... 😥"

Yes, and you can only buy the salad if you buy one of the entrees.

You buy the entree and then you can buy the salad as an addition if you want.

What you can’t do is go in and make a meal out of just the salad bar.

Otherwise Sizzler would be full of people just filling up on the salad bar and nothing else. They wouldn’t be in business very long.

I don’t know how to explain this any other way.

Dear god Lathyrus. She was actually at Sizzler. They have a "meal deal" where you can pay $4.99 to have a salad based meal. Link attached! She said she felt lucky to have had that.

www.facebook.com/sizzler/posts/499-unlimited-craft-salad-bardreams-really-do-come-true-we-will-be-offering-our-/10162931735705416/

What next will you complain about? There is nothing wrong with what she wrote in a letter to Congress, there is nothing to complain about except "I don't like Meghan."

I don't think you would have me deleted, though. Others would.

Umm you do know that’s a total one off for the opening cvs new Sizzler.

So special and never done before that it’s the Grand Opening gesture.

Maybe Meghan saw it and didn’t quite read how unique it was😬

Yup - that about sums it up.

But he and Meghan are the scapegoats of choice atm and nothing will budge that.

How right you are Lucky girl!
