To be published in January. Oh dear ?

Callistemon21 Sun 30-Oct-22 17:29:22

Ps that is not anti-Harry btw, lots of teenagers experiment, I'm sure and parents are faced with how to handle it.

Recollections may vary!
Very true, Mollygo

Journalist asked the then Prince Charles when he was at school if he'd ever taken drugs.
Charles said No, he hadn't.

The headline was:
"Charles denies taking drugs".

Actually, when Charles found that Harry had been drinking and smoking marijuana, he handled it well, according to various media outlets.

Why should this thread be shut down Geordiegirl? H is having a book published and people are talking about it.

I neglected to show that the post I opined was the ' best on here' was written by Poshpaws

Also - if the RF have done nothing to be ashamed of why on earth are they allegedly so upset and worried about what Harry's book will say?
🤣🤣🤣
Recollections may vary!
Even without the interpretation of the media, and especially with that interpretation, what’s in the book may or may not be true, but people will believe it.
Have you never been misinterpreted or misrepresented? Lucky you.
The stupidest local newspaper headline, several years ago
“Teacher shows pupils his balls”
No mention in the headline that they were balls he used for pétanque, with which he’d recently won a competition.

Geordiegirl1 Sun 30-Oct-22 17:16:38

20 pages on here about Harry and Megan. What is wrong with people. Isn’t there a moderator to shut this down?

Geordiegirl1 Sun 30-Oct-22 17:12:36

Faye 17 - correct!

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Oct-22 16:57:43

I would think going on his past record faye it's the lies they are worried about. No one is perfect and no family is perfect but that doesn't mean there should be anything to be ashamed of, and whose suggested that they are?

Yup - that about sums it up.

But he and Meghan are the scapegoats of choice atm and nothing will budge that.

Yup!

Goodness, what a lot of Harry Haters.

To me, he's the only member of the RF who has any integrity. He fought for this country without special privileges, gives not only his time but his money to charities he feels as strongly about as his mother did hers, and he had the backbone to give up a role he'd been brought up to fulfil and all the privileges that came with it in order to protect his wife and family and remove them from the toxic cesspit of the RF and what Diana referred to as "the men in grey suits".

Compare that to the man who not only duped a naive 19 year old virgin into believing he loved her, in order to use her as a well-bred brood mare but who as Diana herself described made no effort to bring her happiness and indeed was soon back to busily screwing the woman whose gift of cufflinks with their entwined initials inscribed he actually WORE ON HIS HONEYMOON!

Also - if the RF have done nothing to be ashamed of why on earth are they allegedly so upset and worried about what Harry's book will say?

Since tickingbird's gone out I guess we'll have to wait for a response, but this is worth saying now.

There's no mystery about where Doria was for several years. That's a rumour put about as a prelude to suggestions that she was in jail. Which of course she never was.

So I am inclined to believe that tickingbird gets her Markle information from untrustworthy sources, and so any claims about ... well.. any of it... are not to be trusted.

tickingbird Sun 30-Oct-22 15:35:31

I’m going out now Glorianny but when I get back I’ll look into it. Thomas Markle, as I’ve already said, was an award winning lighting director. He had no problem paying for Meghan’s education. There is, however, much mystery about where her mother was for several years.

In his very well researched book Tom Bower also states that Thomas Markle never won the lottery.

In that case who paid for MM's education?
Doesn't really matter where the money came from, except it has also been said that she won a scholarship.
Absolutely possible he didn't win the lottery but 3 attempts to file for bankruptcy doesn't really signify an upbringing that was stable or middle class. Especially as her parents divorced when she was 6 and her mother also filed for bankruptcy.

tickingbird this is interesting-more about selling financial services than getting headlines (You don't have to accept cookies just close the window) blog.vanhornlawgroup.com/rags-riches-and-royalty-the-parable-of-the-thomas-markle-bankruptcies/
Seems obvious her family was not financially stable.
Her mother has also filed for bankruptcy can post a link if you are interested.

Many of Meghan’s lies are well documented too but doesn’t stop others on here disputing them even when they’ve come from the horse’s mouth so to speak.

Meghan getting Proctor to change their ad for washing up liquid and getting a personal reply from Hilary Clinton is well documented but entirely false. Repeating a lie again and again doesn’t make it true!

^Even me, arch Republican that I am, knows that Meghan got her private education after her dad won the lottery or something. You can be hard up one year and better off the next, you know. How amazing^.

Actually, Volver, that’s something else that’s not true. Admittedly, not a lie concocted by Meghan. Her father was an award winning lighting director or similar and was very well paid. The lottery win was, I believe, thought up by the brother in order to get paid by some reporter. She had a middle class upbringing.

The lottery win is well documented. As is the fact that Thomas Markle filed for bankruptcy and has claimed he spent the money on MM's education. It's also recorded that she worked various jobs from age 13. It seems obvious that though she may have had advantages sometimes her family probably had financial difficulties. If this was because her father wasn't a good money manager you really don't know.

M0nica Sun 30-Oct-22 14:49:23

How are we to know anyone, other than by the outward image they project?

Dear god Lathyrus. She was actually at Sizzler. They have a "meal deal" where you can pay $4.99 to have a salad based meal. Link attached! She said she felt lucky to have had that.

What next will you complain about? There is nothing wrong with what she wrote in a letter to Congress, there is nothing to complain about except "I don't like Meghan."

I don't think you would have me deleted, though. Others would.

Glorianny Sun 30-Oct-22 14:25:56

And of course she doesn't really care about paid parental leave, she's just doing it for the publicity!

We used to have fish & chips sometimes as a treat when my kids were little- I can't remember how much that was, never mind what f&c cost when I was a child. Doesn't mean I never had them.
