WOW Gransnetters,
keep it calm ladies.
No need to be so nasty to people who don't agree with you.

I am looking forward to reading it.
I like Harry, I like Meghan, I like Kate, I like William - but all have some bad sides to them as they are just human like we all are. Everyone is entitled to see things from their point of view, which is just what Harry does.
So please, let's just leave it as "some will enjoy reading it and some will not want to read it" no need for all the outrage here.

You are new here, I’m guessing?
This is our bread and butter grin

Way to go to welcome people to the discission.

Many advantages for Harry being the spare I would think. A lifestyle most of us can only dream of and tons more freedom and far less responsibility than the one born to be king.

He seemed to like it until someone told him he didn't.
😮

I know someone who works in a large bookshop chain, I asked her about it and seems to be already quite popular in pre orders.
Be interesting to see what the reviews make of it
And apparently
Prince Harry wishes to support British charities with donations from his proceeds from SPARE.
The Duke of Sussex has donated $1,500,000 to Sentebale, an organization he founded with Prince Seeiso in their mothers’ legacies, which supports vulnerable children and young people in Lesotho and Botswana affected by HIV/AIDS. Prince Harry will also donate to the non-profit organization WellChild in the amount of £300,000. WellChild, which he has been Royal patron of for fifteen years, makes it possible for children and young people with complex health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible.

Apart from making thinly veiled threatening remarks to people and displaying utter contempt and disdain for anyone who has the audacity to think differently to you, do you enjoy any other hobbies volver? And do you enjoy spreading your venom elsewhere or are we the sole beneficiaries?

Oh dear you do sound rather het up ! Why not relax a bit ?

Your post was really nasty by the way

The book was due to be released in November but has been put back a little due to the death of the Queen. I doubt Harry can control that much. I don't see an issue with him writing the book - he is only following in the footsteps of his mother who collaborated with Andrew Morton on his Diana biography. Those of you who think nobody will buy it are likely to be disappointed - there is massive interest in the book and the publishers would not have paid him millions if they did not think it would sell well. I won't be buying it as I don't really do biographies but might borrow it from the library. Criticisms about the possible content of the book are pointless at this stage - let's wait until it comes out before starting with the vitriol please!

I am surprised at the choice of title, as it was his mother who coined the phrase, “I’ve done my duty and produced the heir and a spare”

That phrase has been around for centuries

Perhaps he finds it easier to believe what he wants to believe or has been fed by online conspiracy theories.

maddyone Sat 29-Oct-22 16:33:54

…was it an accident or did someone I love have my mother killed?

Diana died because she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, her driver was drunk, her driver was speeding, and Diana herself refused the security which had been offered (and that security would never have allowed her to get into a car with a drunk driver.) If Harry doesn’t understand this, and we don’t know whether he does or he doesn’t, then I’m afraid the questions asked about his intellect are valid. That isn’t a nice thing to have to say but what other conclusions are there?

Mollygo Sat 29-Oct-22 16:25:08

Wow! Volver dear! If you’re quoting the scriptures, you’ve missed Matthew 7.
Do not judge another person’s behavior or attitude to see if they are morally wrong and you are morally superior.
It’s that speck and beam thing again.

What goes around comes around, the way you treat your family
is often the way they treat you,his children may be very sorry not to be Royal etc.

I'm amazed he matured into a fully functioning young man. He grew up knowing he could one day have a very powerful position...... but his brother would have to die first. And with the constant speculation ..... was it an accident or did someone I love have my mother killed? And always the burden of constantly being in the spotlight.

But it’s his choice to be in the spotlight now isn’t it? He doesn’t have to be. He could live quietly if he chose to. But he doesn’t choose to. He continues to air his grievances, perceived or otherwise. He resents his brother. He has written this book to get even. It may prove revelatory in which case some of us may eat our words, but time will tell. Would he have done all of this without Meghan. That is the question.

No doubt it would be received only because Meghan is black.

What on earth does that mean? I probably shouldn't ask. But now I have.

Because, Volver, every little criticism, is perceived by one or both as racism. Racism was suggested for Archie not having the title ‘prince’ at birth against the protocol In fact the protocol laid down by George V was that only granchildren of the monarch were entitled to be princes or princesses. Now that Archie is a grandchild of the. It is monarch he will have that entitlement. I doubt very much that Georve V would have had the foresight to deny little Archie his ‘birthright’. Similarly royal protection - Meghan was ‘shocked’ that he didn’t have it. But neither do Princess Anne’s children and many other descendants of the Queen
Nothing whatsoever to do with him being mixed race.

Well I disagree with your interpretation but thank you for coming back to explain Coco51.

I'm looking forward to the book. There is so much sycophantic twaddle written about the Royal Family, it will be refreshing to read something that they have no control over. I don't blame H if he does a hatchet job on the woman who made his mam so unhappy or on the father who betrayed his mother. It seems to me that he did his bit for the RF. Tried to conform. Joined the armed forces. Went to war because he was the expendable one. Yet, at the end of the day, he's the demon who is supposed to be easily led by his equally demonic wife whilst his brother and wife are promoted as virtual saints.

It's time some people lost their rose-tinted glasses. This book might help with that, but it will be vilified in the media and royalists will simply refuse to believe it.

Well I don’t suppose you’d be interested in what actually happened.

William was not allowed to undertake military duties in a war are because Harry had already been withdrawn from active service due to specific threats to him.

So protecting Harry happened before protecting his brother.

I e spect it’s too much to hope that you’ll acknowledge a bit of a mistake there?

^Harry Haters^

Can we just stop the name calling and be a little more mature please?

There's no moral high ground to be taken here maddyone.

To hate means to dislike intensely, I think. At least it did when I as at school. To "loathe", "detest" or "despise" maybe.

Look at the way Harry and his wife have been described here. Guttersnipe, whinger, overprivileged grown up toddler, unpleasant, outrageous, egomaniac. Accusations that Meghan is narcissistic and is driving the whole thing.

Is it the lies these posters hate? What’s that self-righteous Christian thing? Hate the sin not the sinner. Not much evidence of that here, is there?

It’s hate. Sorry if you don’t like it being called what it is, but there you are.
