Well as I seem to be the only one posting about the medieval exercise, it can't be my clique.

Can we not start this again, please?

I would mention the attitude of 4-year-olds, but Joseanne wouldn't like it.

Cats cause chaos 🐱

OnwardandUpward Mon 31-Oct-22 19:43:27

Could you imagine cats at a funeral though!? grin

Dogs and horses can be trained... but a cat!? It made me laugh just imagining cats at a funeral. grin It makes me laugh also that they think they are divine, but they have to clean themselves after (you know what) in the most undignified way.

I do like cats and have some, before anyone accuses me of being anti cat. But they do their own thing. Cats at a funeral. The idea made me smile. grin

Here comes the clique!!

I know you dislike that word but it is quite funny.
Every time.😂😂😂

Queen of Scots.

She could have flown to Edinburgh, which last time I looked is still in Scotland.

If she had asked your advice, you could have told her to do just that.

I'm not sure she would have asked advice of a Republican who thinks the whole thing was a medieval exercise in projecting power.

I wonder if the animals understand the person is gone? I know they would understand that everyone is sad.
Why did our dog jump on my mother's chair , not just any chair, and refuse to get down?
Telepathy?

volver Mon 31-Oct-22 19:36:42

Well you can ask, but I won't be answering.

You could ask other posters why they think its appropriate to challenge new-ish posters on what their interests are, because apparently, in their opinion, those interests are subject to scrutiny.

Callistemon21 Mon 31-Oct-22 19:36:20

Do we have to be so unwelcoming to Americans?

It wasn't meant to be.
Why would you think that?
It is something that intrigues me.

I could ask DH's cousins I suppose, but it's not something we've discussed.

Oh dear. I’m half afraid to admit that we took my MILs horses and dogs to her funeral. She loved them so much it just felt right.

The funeral was at a Green burial place, in case anyone is shocked.

If it felt right, good for you. It's not like you were doing things on camera like the RF.

I think the personal touch is nice. Sorry if I suggested otherwise. I wonder if the animals understand the person is gone? I know they would understand that everyone is sad.

Not just you, KeepitLight, I mean that many Americans seem fascinated by the British monarchy.
I wondered why.

Here in the States some of us really like him and Megan. I would be curious to read what he has to say.

Just wondering KeepitLight why you would be interested in stories of the family of the British monarchy ?

Curious, seeing as Americans rejected the British monarchy in 1783 (or 1776)

Quite a long time ago….

Do we have to be so unwelcoming to Americans ?

On the other hand, KeepItLight68 might not be a xenophobic 4 year old.

Can I please ask volver why you always (2nd time today) belittle young children and their capacity for thinking? I can give you half a school full from today alone who have a sense of justice and would very disappointed in Harry and Meghan's behaviour towards their families, royal or not.
As the discussion is not age appropriate anyway (4 year olds) I think the comment is irrelevant. And as for xenophobia at that age, they are just children.

Volver "The drive down the A90 done for ceremonial and spectacle, not for convenience." I wasn't even mentioning that as it was so obvious that it was for ceremonial and spectacle. She was Queen of Scotland as well as the rest of the UK (Union of the Crowns and all that) so she had a Scottish ceremonial send-off as well as a RUK one, not just packed off to London as though they had lent her to Scotland for a bit and wanted her back ASAP. The Scottish regalia was displayed on her coffin, too, while it was lying in state.

She was very much involved in the contingency planning for the aftermath of her dying in Scotland (and was probably well aware when she came to Balmoral that it was likely to be put into place pretty soon) so perhaps she was making a point there.

You might feel differently if he starts criticising America and the American people at some point.

Just me, I guess. I find the whole celebrity obsession deadly dull.

A strange remark Lathyrus.

Why would a US resident not be interested in reading about the British monarchy?

For example, I have read books about Jackie Kennedy Onassis. I find her fascinating.
