There is a lovely tribute to him on Twitter by a friend of his called William Shaw. He had been working on another book but was unable to finish it.

That’s very sad - I loved the Shardlake books. A TV series comes onto Disney on 1st May. Trailer looks very atmospheric.

So sad he has died, but what a legacy he leaves behind. Thank you for the reading pleasure you brought to us. RIP Christopher.

Very sad news, I have enjoyed all his books historical and modern. I first discovered him after listening to one of the Shardlake books as a radio play.

Such sad news. Need to re-read the Shardlake series, they're so good.

The Matthew Shardlake books are wonderful, it’s sad to think there will be no more of them, but what a great legacy.
RIP CJ Sansom

Love his books but like others, knew he was seriously ill.

So sad, his books are enthralling, so well researched and detailed. I love the Shardlake series good to have a hero who is not tall dark and handsome.
RIP C J Sansom.

I enjoyed his books and am sad to hear this news.

eazybee I know. It's particularly sad that he died just as it was being shown by Disney and introducing Shardlake to a wider audience.

So sorry to hear that, particularly as his first Shardlake novel has been filmed, by Disney.
