Watching a couple of programmes about Agatha Christie I watched Sophie Hannah giving her views .
She writes books in the style of Agatha Christie with the sanction of the Christie Estate .
Has anyone read them ?
What is your opinion ?

Yes I quite enjoyed them. I don’t think she has quite the Christie pace. A bit more wordy.

I've only read a couple of her books, found them disappointing, based on those I've read I'm not drawn to her as an author. Sorry there's no way I would compare to AC who had a genuis stroke and certainly earned the conferred title 'Queen of Crime'

I have read a few of them but she doesn't have the Christie magic. They are good for passing the time but wouldn't recommend if you are looking for the brilliance of Christie.

I like her books very much. Definitely a good read.

Thank you for your replies.
I think that Agatha Christie's privileged Edwardian childhood together with her imagination and intelligence are evident in her books .
It would be hard to emulate.
To those who like Sophie Hannah -is there a particular book that you recommend ?

Christie first drew me to crime fiction, but I can't say she is the best, given the array of brilliant writers we have to choose from now. Her plots were amazing, but always the same list of "stock characters", none of whom she really seemed to get under the skin of.

I think she is a very poor imitation of the amazing Agatha Christie. I find it hard to believe that she was chosen to write in Christie’s style from the 100s of amazing authors who would have done a far better job.

I was also very disappointed with the Sophie Hannah books.
