"How to kill your family"

I picked this up at the library where it was highlighted as a good read. As soon as I started it I realised it is an update on the old film Kind Heart and Coronets. This meant that I was pretty sure how it was going to end - and I was right.
I then looked at the reviews on Amazon and discovered that many of the readers were unaware of the film and thought this was a very original plot for a novel.
I'm now feeling very old.
Has anyone else read it?

I haven't read the book, eddiecat, but I loved the film.

I read the book, a few years ago now, loved it, I didn't know that though.

I read the book and enjoyed it, but I've never seen the film, so wouldn't have noticed any similarities between the two.

Dennis Price and Alec Guinness were fabulous. Particularly Alec Guinness.

I read it a couple of years ago, it was my book club choice. I really enjoyed it, and yes the theme did resemble Kind Hearts and Coronets.
I also love those old Ealing films.

I read it earlier this year and didn’t know about the film.
