This is a BBC article about the ban:

This was at a secondary school in Salford. The librarian was forced to resign because she didn't agree with banning the books. Apparently it was the headteacher who wanted the books to be removed - I don't know the reason.

I agree with ViceVersa

I note that misogynistic books books like 'Why Women Deserve Less' & 'Why women Deserve Even Less' by Myron Gaines were not listed.

Both these books are stocked by Amazon and other mainstream book distributors.

Personally speaking, I don't think any books should be banned. Look how that's worked out in the past...

It's not just feminist books on the full list, things are being removed for all sorts of categories.
Given that we had to do things like Othello and Hamlet, Tess & Far from the Madding Crowd, as set books for exams when I was 13-15, it seems a bit odd to remove books with "adult sexual themes" in a secondary school library.
Particularly as we live in a world where primary-age kids can view heavy porn on their mobiles.
The logical conclusion is that until children are 16 , we offer them Enid Blyton and Ladybird book-type fare.
How does that help them learn about the world & themselves?

Very worrying. I have read some (but
not all) of the books on the banned list
and the ones I have read are not
subversive or harmful in my opinion.

I will add "Becoming" to my list of books to read.
