I have been documenting things - the complication of course is that he has now been nin 3 different hospitals and they are different health authorities!
He is having his op today and I am busy arranging live-in care at home for whenever I can get it (likely to be a week or so) and we are planning to just aim to get him out of hospital asap to his own home where he will have one-to-one care. It will cost an arm and a leg, but that's what his savings are for. I will try and get continuing care money and will trigger AA at the appropriate moment.

Reading about the difficulties experienced by so many Gransnetters has already got me on my mettle; it can be devastating when things are not done properly. Mishap I do hope that your dad gets the care and consideration he needs now and that as a result of your actions other people will get a better deal in the future.
on your behalf. I do hope you have documented it all and that the dossier will be handed on to the appropriate department at some point.
