Are you looking for a childminder or nanny? Childminders work in their own homes whereas nannies come to your home,

Local Authorities have lists of registered childminders who are ofsted inspected. Be careful about checking out paperwork as there are some illegal, unregistered childminders out there who will be insured and will not have been background checked.

If you are looking for a nanny then there are agencies or you can advertised. With a nanny you are responsible for doing their tax and NI (there are nanny payroll companies that will do this) also if your dd wants to use childcare vouchers she will need an ofsted registered nanny.

Whatever you are looking for they have to be Ofsted approved. Your daughter could contact a local agency.

Do you mean a child minder or a nanny?

You need to get in touch with your LA. Their Childrens’ Services department (or whatever they’re calling it these days) will have a list of registered child minders. Or there are nurseries.

Not sure this is the best way to go about finding someone for such a responsible role.
The Lady magazine or a reputable agency would be a better way forward I think.

Does anyone know of a registered childminder they would recommend (ideally) in or near Hampton Hill, Middlesex? My daughter is struggling to find someone suitable to take a 6 month old full time.
