My mum pays for carer arranged via the council and they get above min wage. Nobody should earn below minimum wage so I was happy to see your concerns. Best of luck,

Hi all! I`ve had carers coming in to help me for 8 years, plus hubby looks after me too. I need a lot of help.

I am about to seek a new carer and feel bad because the rate of pay...£9.07 an hour...hasn't changed in all that time. Recently I have had to start paying almost £40 a week towards the cost of my Direct Payments package, so I cant afford to pay an extra on top.

Do others LAs pay similar amounts? Thanks
