A carers assessment looks at the carers needs and also may help you with the small carers benefit if you are under retirement age. Sorry not to be more help but perhaps get in touch with them again, they should have explained this at the time.
Basically ask them what they will provide to help you if you agree to this.

You do not have to be a carer unless you feel able to do it.

Someone with experience of this will be along eventually but ease dont say yes j less you feel able.

I have been asked to be a carer for my adult daughter. Did not know social services were going to ask me. In their opinion I need a Carers Assessment. Not sure how it will help her. Shes in her 30s
