You're very kind to notice and help and you're a great neighbour to have.

It's always happened here, given half a chance.
I've played cat and mouse with the hospital many a time because they wanted to send my mum home and I knew she wasnt well enough.

They shouldn't reallt release people from hospital without doing an occupational therapy assessment first but it seems because of covid they are doing this and so many people are being left vulnerable when they get home.

Sad, isn't it, really?
It's not for the faint hearted, this getting older lark.
Lucky there are people around who notice these issues and help.

The poor soul must have been feeling rotten.

This person has been ill for weeks and the daughter has finally visited. She took her to A&E and she was hospitalised overnight, testing positive with Covid, and released with medication. The daughter is 'staying for a few days'.

I know this person has savings that can be used for her initial care, and owns her house outright.

You could try contacting Adult Social Services and give them any information you have about her relatives; names and where they live or if you can do so yourself, contact her D expressing your concerns.

You could do this as well as contacting ASS or wait and see if her family respond to your concerns.

I would think that adult social services might be the best people to contact, or age uk, to see what they advise.

You would need to raise a safeguarding concern (safeguarding being the key word) as the poor soul is vulnerable to all sorts of potential harm.
