Car swivel cushion

Has anyone found a swivel cushion to fit a Hyundai i10 (2 years old)? DH has great trouble turning to get into and out if the car. The seat isn't very wide and raises up at the sides and all the gadgets I've looked at seem wider. Also lots of them don't have good reviews. I don't want to buy one which could be useless.

Can’t help with swivel cushions I’m afraid but have you tried the plastic bag on the seat trick? Used to recommend a carrier bag but not so many of those about now. A bin bag worked when I was having problems.

At least this will boost you up the list and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along.

Do a Google search rubysong, there’s loads of different sorts of swivel cushions. Halfords stock them too so your won’t be restricted to buying online and they’re normally pretty good at allowing customers to try things before they buy.

Be mindful about using polythene bags and leaving them in situ when driving, could be dangerous in the event of an emergency stop.

No, however grateful that my gd now climbs in and I don’t have to lift and twist as the thing doesn’t twist as it should!

Oh dear I should have checked that post properly!
I can definitely concur with plastic bag for swivelling in to sit in car seats for anyone with limited mobility, it’s a tried and tested method.

A slide sheet might be the way to go. There are loads advertised online.

Agree Minimoon re slide sheet - but ‘Snoozles’ are very good and smaller than slide sheets - 👍☘️

I worked with an OT in a hospital and she recommended the plastic bag too. You can get a seat that turns but obviously the cost is going to be high and no guarantee that you could transfer it to a new car if and when, plastic bags can be transferred / replaced easily.

We use a large plastic bag after borrowing a swivel thing that didn’t work on our car seats as they go up at the sides.

Plastic bag does the trick.

I used this one from Am*zon. It worked very well, but it was such a struggle getting DH into a car safely that we bought a vehicle that he can drive his wheelchair directly in the back and be secured beside me in the front.

Thank you all. I think I will try a Snoozle. I hadn't heard of it but it looks useful, also will help getting him into bed.
