Are you happy in your own skin?

Ever since I've had my children I've struggled with my weight. Probably being on the Pill for a number of years didn't help either. However, now it's an uphill struggle. I do eat quite healthily, and my portion sizes are realistic. I decided to ignore the scales as I was becoming obsessed with weighing myself each morning. Do any other gransnet ladies feel the same as I do? Is it possible to allow yourself to be happy in your own skin?

It's happened a lot recently, jingl. I think new(ish) members trawl through old threads and find something they can relate to, then post - not noticing it might have been 12 or 18 months since anyone last posted on it. confused

All respect accepted, jingle wink!

If people have new/relevant comments why would it matter when thread started?

Have you seen how many of the names that are missing now sad

Marelli Mon 14-Jan-13 22:12:48

There are quite a few, glass. Although a few did show up again over the weekend (I'm sorry - I've forgotten the name of the thread), and it was lovely to see their names again. I really hope they stay, and that some more come back.

Of course, it is possible that some have come back but with a new name.

Ana Mon 14-Jan-13 22:26:51

Oh yes, there's always that possibility...

It is also always possible that they have other interests and this one had run its course. People join things, are enthusiastic for a while, then find something else to do with their time.

Totally happy in my own skin.

It sure took a lot of money, enjoying food and drink to get it to stretch enough to fit me in it. grin

Surely being happy in your own skin is not merely a factor of weight. Like most people I could do with shedding a bit of weight but I have always been comfortable with whom I am and what I am, and that has caused me enough trouble in my life, and I cannot see the extra pounds unless I look in the mirror so most of the time they don't bother me.
