Most days I`m up by 6am, but don`t get the chance to get my laptop out till after grandson goes home in the afternoons.

Acheron Thu 11-Aug-11 16:30:09

Jangly - tumblr is a blog site where you interact with other people as much or as little as you like. For me - better than Facebook which I don't do.

absentgrana Thu 11-Aug-11 12:34:09

jangly swinish = like a pig.

Well spotted Jangly (in curtain-twitching mode!) Now I feel I have to explain myself!
Last night My DD and 2 babies were staying over here - to give her a bit of a break - and we were joined by an old friend, DD no.2 and her girlfriend plus DS who cooked dinner for all of us. Babies were reasonably co-operative and went off to bed after fun in the bath, so we sat round the table until 11pm, chatting like real adults. We saw the visitors off the premises and headed for bed. ONLY THEN did I take 10 minutes to catch up with G'net and was tempted into posting my rude joke!
I promise to be a good girl and go to bed early tonight.
PS GS woke me at 6.45am!

Faye Thu 11-Aug-11 12:29:52

confused There I was thinking you were all sleeping soundly tucked up snug in your beds with snow softly drifting down on your roofs!

Joan Thu 11-Aug-11 12:29:47

You can always tell when there's nowt on the telly, and/or I don't feel like reading, 'cos I'm on around this time (our evening).

glammanana Thu 11-Aug-11 12:15:11

Most time's I'm on here after 9pm,but will have a look during the
day if at home, but the last three day's have been awful with the rain and gale's.Usually up about 6.30am but it take's 3/4 cuppa's to get going,so read the paper back to front then start moving 9ish,then stop at 10 for a rest!

jangly Thu 11-Aug-11 12:13:55

Baggy - I had a thing like that this morning. Son - not me you note - son, managed to let his suncream leak out all over the stuff in his cycling bag. Guess who had to clean it all up?! Including the bit left on the parquet (fashionable in the sixties) flooring.

glassortwo Thu 11-Aug-11 12:06:00

Good morning afternoon to you all, no I have not just got out of bed shock been up for hours and been out and about with GC dodging the rain.

Like GA I generally float about late at night just reading up on the threads I have missed through the day.

Talking of twitter I joined ages ago but have not got a clue what to do with it!

jangly Thu 11-Aug-11 11:42:14

susie and g a - try camomile tea. let it get cold, hold nose and gulp down. 2 bags. Really works.

absent - what is "swinish"?

Acheron - as above but "tumblr"?

None of this explains em still on here at past midnight!!!

Baggy Thu 11-Aug-11 11:16:58

I've noticed that too, GA, and good morning to you! smile

grannyactivist Thu 11-Aug-11 11:10:52

Bet I'm always the last one on at night. Often find it difficult to get to sleep, so I usually only go up to bed when I'm falling down tired.
Always check GN before I go, but don't always post.

Baggy Thu 11-Aug-11 11:02:51

I look for Faye and Joan when I login in the mornings. Well.... so to speak. smile

absentgrana Thu 11-Aug-11 10:59:20

Just because I'm not posting at the crack of dawn doesn't mean that I'm lapped in swinish slumber. I'm up but feeding the cats, watching the news and slurping several cups of tea to get me functional before showering and dressing. Then I start doing things.

Baggy Thu 11-Aug-11 10:39:50

I would have been earlier too (got up at 5.45 because that's when I woke up) but I knocked over a tub of cream in the fridge — messtastic! — and had to clean it up before my coffee.

susiecb Thu 11-Aug-11 10:39:33

Sound asleep!!! I wish haven't had a full nights sleep since onset of menopause six years ago - usually watching BBC News with lemon tea from about 4am- needless to say I look like the Bride of Dracula in the mornings

Acheron Thu 11-Aug-11 10:36:54

When my husband is away (half the week) I usually check my emails, my tumblr and now gransnet in bed at 6am when the alarm goes off.

Faye Thu 11-Aug-11 10:36:52

Jangly I am in Australia too. I woke up this morning thinking it was 6am, read Gransnet to see what everyone was saying, got up at 6.15am, had a shower, washed my hair, dried it then finally realized that it was only just after 4.30am. blush
I have noticed that baggy is usually first up in the mornings. Joan and I are usually the only ones who have written something while the rest of you are sound asleep!!!!

susiecb Thu 11-Aug-11 10:33:58

I usually get up about 8 and switch on lap top depending on how hungry I have brekkie first and then compute sometimes compute first. Look at on line bank accounts everyday I obssess about knowing how much I havent got. the I Twitter, Gransnet look at Facebook to see what the kids are doing, local community website, a bit of light shopping browsing and then a bit of writing if its not a golf day. Today I await Waitrose delivery so am piddling about till thensmile

jangly Thu 11-Aug-11 09:56:20

I am a born curtain twitcher.

jangly Thu 11-Aug-11 09:55:40

That was quite a difficult post to post. Bit like brain training.

jangly Thu 11-Aug-11 09:54:57

What time they get up for example.

This morning: (we won't count em (6 minutes past midnight!hmm))
Faye was on at 4.39!!
Can't count Joan - in Australia (surprised she manages to join in at all!)
Then there was the Bags at 6.25 - (she's always crack of dawn!hmm)
Closely followed by Pomps at the slightly more civillised 8.49!

Do not check when I start up!
