Out shopping with my daugher who persuaded me to buy a small furry jacket, lovely and warm, and also a pair of sheepskin lined boots as well. So I am now ready for the winter. Considering on Monday I was wearing a t shirt!!!. Oh well here comes Winter whether we like it or not.

Postman has just delivered a lovely faux fur throw for our bed, I'm surprised at how warm it feels, very good quality for the money, I'm going to stay warm this winter!

Oh, gally, I was wondering yesterday when we had hail at the head of the loch if there was snow anywhere in Scotland yet. Couldn't see 'our' hills for the low, dark clouds. There's no white stuff on them this morning, but we are a lot further west than Aviemore. Official start of winter, then?

Butternut Fri 07-Oct-11 12:10:39

Nothing better than sun on your back, Gally.

Gally Fri 07-Oct-11 12:07:40

After yesterday which was atrocious with rain, wind, 7 degrees and CH on full blast, today is glorious with sun and blue skies but the wind is chilly. Sat in a sheltered spot enjoying the sun on my back. Lots of snow 'up the hill' in Aviemore so it looks like Winter is on its way. grin

Brilliant sunshine. :-)
A wee bit nippy, but only need a long sleeved t-shirt when raking the leaves.

Gloves, scarf and hat this morning. Met Office predicted 8°C minimum temp for us overnight. At 6pm it was already 5.6°. Real feel? About 1°C because of the howling gale. hmm

And socks.

Heating on! And - a sure sign - DH has put his shorts away.

Libradi Fri 07-Oct-11 09:18:52

Sorry meant to say hope you feel better soon susiecbthanks

What a windy night! It's certainly a 'Cardigans On' day here. Holding off putting the heating on but going to get the winter duvet out later.

Chilly here now and I have a cold. I also have a friend who keeps wittering on about how much she likes the cold and dark evenings and wearing lots of layers and boots and jackets and scarves. I havent decided how to kill her yet but I feel it coming on!

Twobabes Fri 07-Oct-11 09:03:54

Oops! I can do typos, too. smile

Twobabes Fri 07-Oct-11 09:02:09

Annika, I love your "winter wollies"! I know it was a typo, but what a lovely one - that's what I'm calling them from now on..... Thank you smile

Colder today, just brought a new jumper with matching cardy from M and S in the sale its sounds dull but its M and S pur una and it was a bargain. Think summer tops may have to go away now and take out winter wolliessad

...oooh, you are naughty..but I like you....

harrigran Thu 29-Sep-11 21:07:34

Hot, hot, hot here today and I wasn't going anywhere, nice young men builders had their shirts off grin

Hattie64 Thu 29-Sep-11 19:56:45

Running naked through the grass weather here in Suffolk. My old man stripped off his vest and wore short socks not knee highs. It is supposedly getting even hotter over the weekend, the ghastly thought passed through my mind that OM might consider shorts, bring on the rain please!!!

Baggy Thu 29-Sep-11 19:45:35

15°C today where I am. Hey ho! At least it's not cold wink.

Twobabes Thu 29-Sep-11 19:30:58

Virtually everything off today! Went for a spa day with friends and ended up sunbathing in our swimmers on the terrace.

Annobel Mon 26-Sep-11 11:34:15

Yes, glorious morning in East Cheshire too. I've just put the washing out and it will be dry in no time. Time for hedge cutting which I've been avoiding for weeks. No excuses today, I fear! wink

Cardigan's off to-day on The Wirral the sun is shining and it is very pleasent outside, looking out of the window I can see the baby bird's bathing in the water on top of the garage next door and they are adorable, there are about 8 of them all being looked after by "mummy bird".

jogginggirl Mon 26-Sep-11 09:56:59

Definitely a 'cardigans off' day today - I'm off for a jog in the sunshine while it lasts..........smile

Oldgreymare Mon 26-Sep-11 09:46:29

Sorry smile

Oldgreymare Mon 26-Sep-11 09:45:58

Yippee, cardigans thrown casually over shoulders.... the sun is shining and we're promised hot (not merely warm) weather! [smiley]
