but always wear old t-shirts, baggy leggings, vests etc. - basically any old thing that has seen better days! What do you wear between the sheets???

I prefer to wear nothing but it's not pretty and I don't want to scare the grandchildren! Nighties get twisted, so prefer pyjamas I tend to get hot so don't want too much coverage. Also need support, but not a strappy top. Am i asking for the impossible?

I wear some silk pyjamas that I got from here: www.pinkcamellia.com/search.asp?types2=yes&type2=Pyjamas. They are very comfortable smile

I bought a cotton adult onesie from funzee which is nice to sleep in (www.funzee.co.uk)

JessM DH has been in that position many times because he stayed in hotels during the working week. He said he had it off to a fine art, all clothes placed so that he could jump into them and his briefcase alongside. He brags that he never once turned up in the car park without being fully dressed unlike some who would turn out in bare feet and flimsy nightclothes.

I seem to have things the opposite way round to most contributors, in their baggy t-shirts.

My daytime clothing is boring and practical, but for bedtime I indulge myself with long, satin, pastel nightdresses, which would not be my style at all to wear in public.

Fire alarm went off once in a large Bristol business hotel. 7 flights down. it was winter and about 2 am.
Glad I put on my winter coat and boots over the long sleeved cotton nightie. Some girls were there in pjs. Then someone pulled up in a car and asked what was going on. What do they think was going on? All assembling to do some kind of small hours fun run maybe? Answers on a postcard...
7 flights back up. Unless you want to compete with the other 300 people for a ride in the lift.

goldengirl I can't help feeling that, however shapely it may be, guests evacuating a burning hotel in the middle of the night, are unlikely to be much interested in your bottom. smile

T shirt nighties with long sleeves preferably unless it's summer when I have short sleeves. However when I stay in hotels I wear pjs just in case there's a fire and I have to go down the stairs and there's a wind blowing!

Yes, I agree, Annobel! When I need to go, I really do have to go THEN! A onesie would be no good to me! blush

Annobel Thu 19-Jan-12 18:58:04

One thing that bothers me about those onesies. You know.... when you need to hasten to the loo...?

greenmossgiel Thu 19-Jan-12 18:56:37

glammanana - while I was choosing my granddaughter's 'onesie', there was a young woman who was buying about ten of them! She'd decided that she wanted to have all her adult family to be wearing them on Christmas morning as they opened their presents. I have a picture in my mind of zebras, cats, giraffes etc, all opening their Christmas presents....!grin

glammanana Thu 19-Jan-12 18:39:09

Green my DD bought her two brothers those onesie's for Christmas they where in an animal print also but they had long tails attached to the rear, just can't imagine what the pair of them look like in them though !!!

I'm rather disappointed the first AnthonyGrumps post was a mistaken. I was quite intrigued! grin

nanapug Thu 19-Jan-12 18:10:18

Yep, he's not a fan Gally!!

Gally Thu 19-Jan-12 17:50:41

Nanapug ha ha - priceless - see he is expounding on Ed Elasticband too grin

nanapug Thu 19-Jan-12 17:47:09

Oooops, just realised my DH was logged in and not me, and described what I wear in bed (see above). I can assure you I am the one in the nightdress and he is the one in the buff in anyone call round tonight!!!

AnthonyGrumps Thu 19-Jan-12 17:43:33

It's those boring M and S cotton nightdress for me. Can't bear the idea of knickers or PJs as they cut you in half as you move round in bed. I also have to have my beany hotty that warms up in the microwave. It's wonderful.

petallus Thu 19-Jan-12 17:29:33

I can never decide whether or not to wear knickers under pyjama trousers. If yes, it can feel a bit swaddled, if no it means washing pjs every day.

harrigran Thu 19-Jan-12 14:17:56

As a, sometimes, sleepwalker I like to think that I am suitably dressed should I meet anyone on my walkabout. I wear pjs, the more luxurious the better. In the summer I may wear a nightdress but always with briefs in case of a breeze.

greenmossgiel Thu 19-Jan-12 14:10:14

I bought my granddaughter a 'Onezie' from Primark for Christmas! It's like an adult fleece babygro and she loves it! They range from sizes 8-10 upward to size 18 (I think). The one I bought her was an animal print, but they do have more 'sensible' designs! Cost £10 if I remember.

Oldgreymare Thu 19-Jan-12 13:18:30

Errrmmm! Those ladies who wear nothing and who get over-warm, better to 'glow' into a nightie or PJs than the sheets. Clean on every night, of course! Or am I missing something? confused

Yummygran Thu 19-Jan-12 12:54:54

I don't wear anything, summer or winter. I get so hot, I have the window opened up as high as it will go, even during the snow it was open. As soon as I get into bed I start glowing. It's probably an age thing, but I don't actually flush so not sure if it's the menopause.
