As I can't go and have afternoon tea with my D Sister today because of the snow, how about a virtual tea party? Pretty china cups, saucers and plates and flowery teapots will be the order of the day. Unfortunately I've only got 6 in my Royal Worcester tea set. I have a bone chine teapot ,white with violets. Can anyone supply some more crockery? What shall we have to eat? I have a cucumber in the fridge.

Glad you suggested it Hunt. I do enjoy our get-togethers, even if they do get a bit hairy every now and again! grin

Mamie Sun 05-Feb-12 17:41:12

Just sending over some Calva to swig out the teacups...

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 17:49:26

Ariadne Sun 05-Feb-12 17:58:51

Where's everyone gone????

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 18:00:29

Scarpered ...it was bit of a rush ...didn't see you ...or would have offered you a lift back to kent.

Grannylin Sun 05-Feb-12 18:05:01

Missed it again...it was impossible to get there from Devon and I had some mini pasties! Can't wait to tell grannya about the goings on this weekend. When is she back from Italy? or will she get back?

Ariadne Sun 05-Feb-12 18:24:34

Tell you what, grannylin let's amble off together and find a nice pub, have a drink, then I'll give you a lift on my broomstick. How's that?

Grannylin Sun 05-Feb-12 18:29:27

Perfect! I'll have a double gin and tonic seeing as it's diet weigh-in tomorrow and I haven't lost an ounce!

nanapug Sun 05-Feb-12 18:34:25

Can't believe I missed it, all the GCs came round to play in the snow. Sounds as if you all had a brilliant time. At least I didn't eat any "nice but naughties" as I wasn't there to be tempted. Really wanted to meet you all too. What a shame. Next time maybe.

Elegran Sun 05-Feb-12 18:43:52

I missed it too - Dear son and his SO came round and we were drinking real tea and eating real choccy biscuits. didn't meet any royals though. Anne was in Edinburgh for the rugby yesterday, she could have dropped in.

GoldenGran Sun 05-Feb-12 19:23:00

Sorry I missed the tea, anything left to eat, am a little peckish.

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 19:26:21

Sorry ...we left in a bit of a rush ...blue lights coming up the drive!!

We still have the St Valentines Party on the evening of 14th February to look forward to, it should be fun. We have plenty of time to dream up our perfect date for the night and decide what we are wearing. That is if we want a date, we can also come along solo if we prefer. We must decide on a venue, one we haven't been kicked out of been before. smile

The Albert Hall
Lots of space and a marvellous organ. Where else?

Ariadne Sun 05-Feb-12 21:04:06

OK, Grannylin? Safe home now. Night night. xxx

gracesmum Sun 05-Feb-12 21:12:00

Not quite sure about the reference to the "marvellous organ" jeni grin

nanachrissy Sun 05-Feb-12 21:14:20

Jeni are you sure you're a doc and not a comedienne?? wink

glassortwo Sun 05-Feb-12 21:14:30

grace that thought went through my head too wink

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 21:23:46

Why can't I be both?
Humour makes up for the tragedy we see. I don't think I could have coped otherwise

Dammit, missed it!
I do tea every Sunday for family. Today we had sponge cake with jam (homemade of course) and cream and a strange cheesecake made without flour or butter for hypochondriac daughter.
Best china is Wedgewood's Ice Rose. Also have MIL's embroidered table cloth. I'll come to the next bun-fight.

Grannylin Sun 05-Feb-12 21:31:34

Thanks Ariadne...and not a flake of snow anywhere envy

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 21:38:38

namacone of my very good friends who is the organist at our local church, tells me it is a marvellous organ!
What did you think I meant?
confused

Ariadne Sun 05-Feb-12 21:45:10

Well, Grannylin there's plenty here!neasy to park broomstick, though - chucked it over the fence.

nanachrissy Sun 05-Feb-12 22:18:28

Jeni I just have a dirty mind, but you did make me laugh out loud. grin

Elegran Sun 05-Feb-12 22:20:14

Once knew someone whose husband was building a (musical) organ at home. She would report that X had been busy again in the spare bedroom with his organ.
