Grannynet have you had a look?

I just came across granny net today when googling Esther Ranzten and the Silver Line. Then checked out here to see your comments! I think gransnet is a fun place to spend the odd half hour (and more!) and couldn't cope with following both of them. (though I will have one browse of granny net to see what goes on there-it's such a dull rainy day today!)

I am a TG (Townswomens' Guild) member and Esther Ranzten became a vice president hoping to promote her Silverline. But - she doesn't seem to do much TG promoting.

Don't know what it is on mine but they are soooo comfy, I can't do without them for long enough to put them in the wash!

This is my first foray into a forum (!!) so anywhere else looks odd. GN suits me down to the ground. As yogagran said it's like coming home or like a pair of comfy slippers!! There you go, compliments don't come much better than that, Grans

And me. Before joining GN, I hadn't had any experience of a forum. I can 'manage' this one ok, and although I'm sure that Grannynet has many really good points, I'll stick with what I'm more comfortable with.

I had another look this morning and it confirmed my thoughts of yesterday - it's not for me. This site is a lot more user friendly, so much quicker to go to the threads that you're watching and I really like our "last hour" and "last day" tabs.
Coming back over here after visiting there felt like coming into a friendly, cosy room and shutting the door on all the chaos behind me. I'm here to stay

Post 30 times, junior member - post 100 times, senior member. They also have a colour code for 'reputation' which I haven't quite fathomed yet, but if it relates to some way of banishing trolls, might be helpful.

Couldn't work that out, either. I would imagine it may just be the length of time that the person has been a member of the forum?

Did anyone find out what is the difference between senior and junior members?

I was puzzled by the idea of senior and junior members on the 'other place'! I feel that here we are all equals.

My father was forced to learn to write with his left hand after an accident to his right hand. He was five years old and a cart ran over his hand and crushed the bones and ligaments. He developed tetanus and was very lucky to recover.

My elder son is ambidextrous - plays tennis with either hand, thus avoiding having to play a backhand. His elder daughter is mainly left-handed but is quite good with the right one. I, on the other hand (sorry!), am completely useless with my left hand. I was once filling in for another teacher, 'babysitting' a group of warehousing trainees on day release - only about seven of them - and was flabbergasted to observe that every one of them was left-handed. What are the chances?

My father was completely ambidextrous. I am partially. I can use screwdriver either handed!
