What Makes You Feel Your Age?

Oh yes - chatting to strangers. When I was talking to the plumber yesterday, I suddenly thought "You are going on like an old granny!"

Yes! I know! I am an old granny! (well, not that old!)

Oh, and flapping at the check-outs in supermarkets and chatting too much to strangers.

My grandma used to fart uncontrollably when she got old, which made us all giggle like mad, then my father did when he got old. The other day I did the same in front of my adult grandson who tactfully said nothing. Then there's age spots on the hands, flat warts growing here and there, hairs on the chin which I often leave for ages because i don't notice, and those little pleated lines going down my top lip. And that's not to mention the polymyalgia rheumatica and a recently developed dicky hip!

Also that dumpy old woman who follows me in shop windows!

When DGS5 asks "did they have such and such in olden times nana"

taking my shorts off to go topless sunbathing,plasters on the backs of my heels where my bum rubs..and the way I walk oh.. and the mirror just about everything really..lol

Facial hair - and...nose hairs!

The urge to drop off half way through the afternoon.

NO WAY could I get over a stile! I just wish I could!
Even putting on a pair of tights is an acrobatic feat!

Having to use my hands to lift a leg over a stile when out walking. It takes forever for a group of us to climb over.

I am now at x10 mirror for that, (use a x3 for putting make up on) have given up on trying to do my own eyebrows, pay to have them waxed instead.

I sometimes do nellie ......I blame all the veg I'm eating on the Gransnet diet. I'm ladylike about it though.

What makes me feel my age, or perhaps to be more accurate, recognise my age? 1 word answer, mirrors I hate the bastards.

It's all the stuff I pick up in the pharmacy section on my way round the supermarket, and the top shelf in my kitchen cupboard that has medications for every ailment. I used to laugh about the amount of stuff that would be in my mum's house, but I've probably got more than her. And when I take my washing out of the drum, there's always a crepe bandage in there, as I am forever binding my poorly knee up.

Fortunately, all my friends say the same thing, so I am not alone.
