Thanks glammana , for your good wishes I will enjoy mussels big time plus the wine !! I am always mindful of the saying "we are here for a good time not a long time and there is an expiration date " Enjoy your saturday evening what ever you may be doing

jeni Sat 24-Mar-12 18:10:26

I don't think my dd knows what an iron is!

Homemade butgers with lots of fried onions, mmmmm! Most unhealthy, I know, but so tasty!

I have had a strawberry frappe in the park, and some french fries from Wimpy.

So DH is on his own so far as cooking is concerned. grin

Monkfish kebabs with bacon and sage leaves and garlic mayonnaise.

Boned rolled shoulder of lam. This was organic, and very expensive.
In fact , so expensive, I bought the smallest joint available. This was online.
It was just for the two of us, so I did not think it would matter.
Well, ladies it was so small, it looked too small to cook!
Cooked it in the frying pan in the end.
It was very nice with some roast potatoes and haroset.

Tilapia fillets, green salad and cous cous, with one glass of dry white wine, strawberries - 400 calories approx glass. (Won't mention the trifle that keeps looking at me when I open the fridge!)

I've had a truly terrible day and can't be bothered, so I just tipped a packet of disgusting 'scampi' onto a tray, cooked for 20 minutes, doused them with mayonnaise and now I feel sick. Cooking for one isn't much fun but I suppose I will get the hang of it one day sad

shysal Sat 24-Mar-12 19:57:23

Boring old cottage pie I'm afraid - home made with turkey mince.

glassortwo Sat 24-Mar-12 19:58:38

gally sending you a hug, mayonnaise can be very cloying. I have cheated tonight having a M&S meal deal shock

Carol Sat 24-Mar-12 19:59:36

Sorry you've had a blue day Gally. Every day is a fresh start, and I hope things will be a little better for you tomorrow. Take care smile

Annobel Sat 24-Mar-12 20:01:24

nanachrissy Sat 24-Mar-12 20:07:12

Gally that sounds like the sort of thing I do when I can't be bothered.
Nothing wrong with that every now and then. (((hugs))) flowers

I've We've had a delicious indian takeaway, from what must be one of the best Indian Restaurants in the area. Absolutely stuffed now!! grin

jeni Sat 24-Mar-12 20:08:15

gally I still haven't got used to it! I always cook too much!

Annobel Sat 24-Mar-12 20:12:56

If I can't be bothered I boil a couple of handfuls of pasta and have it with pesto and/or parmesan and a drizzle of olive oil.

Aurelia Sat 24-Mar-12 20:19:40

G&T with hot nibbles
Pasta bake with tomato and mozzarella and some leaves with glass of Chianti
No proper pud, so Brandy Alexander garnished with Maltesers

Gally, you've had a rotten day for sure, by the sound of things. Would an early night help, with a good book - get the day finished with? The weather won't have helped - it's been murky around our way, hasn't it? We were in Edinburgh and coming back over the road bridge, we couldn't even see the Forth Bridge, the fog was so thick!
We have had a lovely Indian takeway - only some of it - I'll have the rest tomorrow!

glammanana Sun 25-Mar-12 12:07:20

gally hoping you are having a better day to-day,just think it will not be too long before you go on your fabulous trip the time will soon pass, next thing you know you will be packing that suitcase.flowers
