As per the Stella McCartney thread I suggested this thread suggested by a Woody Allen character in Annie Hall. Who or indeed what in your opinion deserves a place in the HOTVOR.
Here are a few of mine to start off;

Stella McCartney
David Bowie
Tom Cruise

Bruce Forsyth - sorry, Brucie - I think you are past your use-by date. Retire to the golf course, please.

I just want to say I find Jeremy Paxman sexy too.

Overrated - that is all the men on Top Gear and the programme.

PRINTMISS Thu 29-Mar-12 16:00:25

Here here, with Jeremy Clarkson - what exactly does he do, except incite motorists to to mad brain things? which I am sure the youngsters of today follow - just don't get me started!

Love Paxo clever guy bit sexy too but Jeremy Clarkson what is the purpose of that rude man- FETCH ME THE GUN!

POGS Thu 29-Mar-12 15:29:33

Lowrie,Picasso, give me a Constable or Turner any day. Jazz music and Jeremy Paxman.

Anagram Thu 29-Mar-12 15:20:52

Damien Hirst

Did he, jingl? Or are you thinking of Jeffrey Archer? Maybe they're both philanderers....woudn't surprise me!

supernana Thu 29-Mar-12 14:49:30

Fiona Bruce looks good, sounds good, knows a good deal about most things...and drives me at break-neck speed round the proverbial bend...

supernana Thu 29-Mar-12 14:45:50

Tracey E of "unmade bed" fame! hmm

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 29-Mar-12 14:26:48

Not you Susie! grin Parkinson himself! grin He had an affair, didn't he?

susiecb Thu 29-Mar-12 13:36:18

Andy Warhol - is it just me who finds his appeal unfathomable?

PS Not sure why I should be feeling guilty about Mary Parkinson

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 29-Mar-12 12:06:53

That's guilt speaking - about the lovely Mary Susie. grin

Anagram Thu 29-Mar-12 11:53:29

confused

nanachrissy Thu 29-Mar-12 11:53:25

I don't think so Anagram hmm

Carol Thu 29-Mar-12 11:46:00

I love Jaques Tati and looked forward to see M Hulot's holiday or Mon Oncle each christmas. I recently got the holiday DVD so I can watch it when I want. I always associate it with Wimbledon and the sounds of tennis racquets hitting balls on a summer afternoon.

Anagram Thu 29-Mar-12 11:28:57

This is turning into a list of people and things we just don't like, not necessarily what we consider to be overrated!

nanachrissy Thu 29-Mar-12 11:25:52

All the "soaps" (sorry Jings)

gracesmum Thu 29-Mar-12 11:24:27

Les Miserables -everybody raves about it, but I don't think it has any tunes worth whistling. Also most American so-called "romantic" comedies, anything in 3D, Agatha Christie, Alfred Hitchcock, Jacques Tati, most comedians.

Carol Thu 29-Mar-12 10:38:29

Sorry, missed the last post - yes, perhaps another thread!

GoldenGran Thu 29-Mar-12 10:38:23

I now stand up and confess I love Nicholas Parsons. There I've said it out loud, I will go and hide now.blush

Carol Thu 29-Mar-12 10:37:37

Yes, Mick Jagger - I have loved him since I was 15 years old! grin

susiecb Thu 29-Mar-12 10:37:08

of course but perhaps we should have another thread for praise of our favourites and leave this one as a place to unload our dislike and I will add in

Michael Parkinson (hugely overrated and doesn't let his interviewees get a word in always banging on about Barnsley and Cricket and as for the lovely Mary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 29-Mar-12 10:31:52

Is there anyone out there we do like?! hmm

GoldenGran Thu 29-Mar-12 10:31:33

Oh mishap I love him, I used to enjoy getting thoroughly miserable along with him in my youth. My vote for Vastly Overrated goes to Stephen Sondheim, I can't understand why a lot of my friends will go million miles to see one of his shows.

susiecb Thu 29-Mar-12 10:30:17

I agree with Leonard Cohen and Paul McCartney and would like to add

Nicole Kidman (bland)

Graham Norton (waspish)

Jonathan Ross (ego maniac)

Fiona Bruce (nice but go back to newsreading and stop pouting at the camera)

there are more, many many more!!!!

Mishap Thu 29-Mar-12 09:33:50

Hmmm.....I do think that Paul McCartney has real talent. His song-writing skills and ability to create atmosphere in his songs and arrangements are quite extraordinary. But he is indeed getting on now and I guess his performance skills (in every direction!?) will be suffering. But, for my money, they can keep on wheeling him out!

Leonard Cohen is the VOR of my choice - how I hate and detest that man with his pseudo-poetry and absence of musical skills!
