I should be going to bed! And I am
Out to lunch tomorrow!(don't say it) with my friend Jenny.
We do this about 3 times a year, so it's quite an event for me!

Goodnight all!

And mine. Ilike shoulder best which I slow roast. The remains go very well into this dishand it's easy.i do just throw it all into casserole and simmer either on hob or in oven. I'm not mean with saffron and I
Ile a lot of lemon!
If you do it from raw lamb, use sliced red onions and marinade them on a little vinegar first! Then brown them and lamb.

Thanks jeni - we had lamb curry this week with the last of the joint but I shall certainly do this next time.
I love roast lamb - it comes top of my "favourite roast" list

yoga sorry lost your post!
Lamb!
Passata
Stick cinaamon
Saffron threads
Stock
Onions
Pinch chilli
Throw all together and cook till cooked!
Then add pickled lemon rind! ( I sometimes put some in at the beginning as well. Depending on how acerbic I'm feeling)
I serve with Cous Cous!
You can also serve with plain yoghurt and harrissa if you want!
You can also do a veggie version, but just put leeks, carrots and any other veg in instead. I usually don't put lemon in this though but cumin and coriander instead!

I can't really complain about snow, having chosen to live in ski resort!
However, it has been sunny this morning and I have had a lovely three hour walk, very steep, to make up for the two days I lost when it snowed.

jeni you earlier said that you were making a lamb tagine with left over roast lamb. Would you mind sharing the recipe for that. I often have left over roast lamb and usually end up with lamb curry but this sounds a lovely alternative.
Pretty please smile

meant to be writing my dissertation but struggling a bit with motivation today

I'm having my dinner cooked for me at the moment. DD on school holidays. Yummy smells wafting in. smile

Visitors gone - still bunged up - slave to paracetamol. Still if they help through a situation that's OK by me.
Yes Annobel I'm a good 'last minuter'. The only thing I have improved on is the packing for going away. I have started to be more organised beforehand.
I think that there is alot more of interest on here than on Mumsnet glassortwo - you obviously agree.
What should I be doing now? - have just stoked up the dishwasher and am now not inclined to do any more today!!
Sympathies Greatnan - you with the snow. Let's face it - things should be warming up by now. It won't this week beacuse the children are on holiday and looming up are 2 days of having the grandchildren.

Greatnan Mon 09-Apr-12 13:45:51

Don't get too envious - it has snowed for the last two days and more is forecast later in the week!

Annobel Mon 09-Apr-12 13:10:45

Greatnan envy. It's raining in Cheshire. I had planned to walk round the garden at Styal Mill. Fat Chance! sad

Greatnan Mon 09-Apr-12 13:07:47

I should be watching TV after a lovely two-hour walk in the sunshine, beside a tumbling river, with only the sound of the water and birdsong, all the sights and smells of Spring - so I am!

Annobel Mon 09-Apr-12 12:49:13

I should be clearing unidentified stuff out of the freezer, but I've just finished doing the fridge and am wiped out! A lot of bending doesn't suit me. At least I have a beautifully clean - and almost empty - fridge.

I should be pouring a nice glass of Pinot...OK, I will! smile

jeni Sun 08-Apr-12 17:49:38

I've just cooked a morrocan lamb tagine with the remains of the lamb shoulder. Complete with the pickled lemons! There's enough for a small army. I shall serve it with my last sachet of French boil in the bag Cous Cous. I can't get it here. I bought the last load in monoprix!

glassortwo Sun 08-Apr-12 17:42:15

gangy I am member of mumsnet and pop over occasionally but don't often post, don't seem to be able to drag myself away from here!

Annobel Sun 08-Apr-12 17:19:36

That's right, gangy5. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing at the last minute - well, that's my philosophy. wink

gangy5 Sun 08-Apr-12 17:15:45

Don't feel like doin nuffink!! Got a stinkin cold - all bunged up!! Am enjoying just sitting here and reading all the comments. It is a marvellous spot for those on their own and wanting to have a chat about something. I wonder how many of us gransnetters there are??

I used to be an avid Mumsnetter and still look that way occasionally but, it must be my age, I don't find alot of interest in the chit chat over there anymore. Do any of you contribute to Mumsnet??

Well, what should I be doing - I've visitors to lunch tomorrow so should be doing something towards that, including a flick of the duster. No - I don't think so - hopefully time to get it all done tomorrow.

Ariadne Sun 08-Apr-12 10:14:26

I should be up and doing, after being very lazy yesterday...in a minute, though.

Greatnan Sun 08-Apr-12 10:01:58

I just have to listen to the Archers, then I am off to Lesbos for our special lunch. It is snowing again here, so I won't be missing my daily walk.

petallus Sun 08-Apr-12 09:59:56

Instead of feeding my addiction to Gransnet I should be getting in the shower and getting on with Sunday lunch (I have a guest coming at 12)
