Old maps Online is a great collection of historical maps from around the world; it's run by Portsmouth University and they hope it will be a central repository for maps held by institutions across the globe. It’s starting with 60,000 maps and is growing fast. Well worth a look.

That is a great site! I have found a map of our area in 1868. Where there are now houses, it's all fieds.

Will show DH. He has lived here all his life. He will be intrigued.

These maps are just incredible, I love maps and I love local history too so this is just perfect for me. Thanks for the information

I tried one to lead me across 'Mr Garland's cow field' and ended up watching telly in a house on a new estate
