In the UK I always celebrated St Georges day by going to the countryside to pick delicious St Georges wild mushrooms and make a big 'Croustade' - one of my mum's favourite recipes, puff pastry, wild mushrooms and cream with a layer of ham. Pure fuke and good luck, with have a big circle of them in our field here - but they are not even showing their noses, as it has been so cold and even snowy. Will celebrate when they are ready!

Oh yeah! We could have some right old bust-ups then janthea.

I had planned to celebrate by visiting the best bit of English countryside I can reach by bike. But it's raining.

Special St George's Day cape, perhaps, Imjingl? (Or a wetsuit)

I've gotta think of my chest!

And, anyway, the moment's passed.

In GS school all the classes are named and his class is St George he thinks they will be having a party today.... hope he is not disappointed

And then of course granjura ...there is Georgia, with a national flag similar to England's flag ...or is our's similar to their's?

I've been out and about this morning ...only seen one person wearing a red rose ...didn't even see the correct flag flying
