Yuk! The only way that I can drink gin is in a martini. (I blame my late stepfather, dinners out often started with a Martini whilst perusing the menu.)

G&T is not my tipple.

Perhaps change your tonic water.
Schweppes now has artificial sweetener in it.
We now use Waitrose own brand, which does not.
It is very good. And not expensive.
If you are not near a Waitrose you can buy it online through Ocado.

Yes, the Fever Tree tonic is to die for but very expensive.

I do like the sound of drinking Gin with a slice of cucumber I've not tried that it sounds so refreshing must give it a go,I must admit that my favourite tipple is Brandy preferably with a good coffee.grin

Aha!! numberplease - Mother's Ruin it is!! I've never felt depressed after drinking gin - and ordinary Gordon's is fine for me! grin

I have never heard of having cucumber in my G&T - always have a slice of lime. So I am going to try it after all these glowing (grin) recommendations. (Lots of slices or just the one?) Wish I could get the Fever Tree Tonic here sad.

Jeni - more sunshine winging your way.....

I bought some Edinburgh Gin at the Highland Show last year - has a citrus flavour and is very enjoyable!

janthea Tue 24-Apr-12 14:57:28

Love Fever Tree tonic and I use Bombay Sapphire.

I love the cucumber-infused Hendricks - delish with a slice of cucumber and some fever tree tonic water. (I am a G&T addict!)

My husband likes Tanqueray (sp?) No10 which I got him for Valentine's Day. The bottle is lovely too!

I wondered if you could help. I have been a firm follower of Gordon's and Schweppes for many years but now the market for new gins seems to be expanding daily. I like Plymouth but its very strong and hence know as the 'falling down water' in this house. I recently tried Greenalls as it was on special offer but it lacked flavour. Bombay Sapphire is quite nice but the price doesn't seem to be justified. Any others you can recommend plse? Don't think I would like a flavoured on like the flavoured vodkas one sees.
