The initial op went to plan, but Sam's recovery took a downward turn on Wednesday when they discovered that another small hole had appeared due to the pressure caused by patching the 1st one. They took him back to theatre that day, and things went a bit haywire from there. Last night it was touch and go whether he would make it. By this time he also had a partially collapsed lung.
However, he's made of strong stuff thank God, and this morning he had rallied. And is now hopefully on the slow journey to good health.

Samuel had his stiches out today and is moving to his local hospital in the next 24hrs.
They won't allow him home just yet as they have had to insert a long term feeding tube because he has lost his sucking reflex.
But it's all good news 
Thats good news nina he will come on in leaps and bounds now. 
That is lovely to hear - you have been much in my thoughts and must have gone through all the circles of hell in the last weeks. Warmest wishes to you all and especially to Baby Samuel - what a little fighter!
