My DS1 is doing the Thames open-water swim - a mile round the Royal Victoria Dock. This is the third time for him and he tries to improve his time every year! Now he is 41, so when he reaches 70, he should be a record-breaker. [grin]

It was my lucky day (said with heavy irony) because when I rang to ask for an appointment with my doctor at 8am precisely they'd just had a cancellation! The upshot of this visit is that she is sending me for a gastroscopy to see if my hiatus hernia is playing up. Had one two years ago and there was nothing much to it. It's just a nuisance.

Glass - arnica is best for bruised a***s.
