Off on a wee hike shortly, after my second breakfast, with a friend who is going to come and help me at Cubs. She stressed the importance of bringing suncream because the last hike she did, up Ben Macdui in winter conditions, she got a badly sunburned face. It wasn't hot but the sun was shining and there was a strong wind and reflected snow glare.

Chomps into bread and marmalade doorstep (I must be one of the seven percent who still like marmalade.

Waiting patiently to go up to the house to get started and DH has been called into the office, I have been told it will take 10mins but we will see. hmm

I'm in a very relaxed state this morning after four days in baking hot Abersoch with my SO. After a hot shower and hair washing, I shall get tarted up and go out for lunch with my two best friends, to our favourite country pub.
The rest of the weekend I shall be overdosing on Her Maj! flag crown flag crown

Well, what a dreary start to the Jubilee weekend! I do feel sorry for all those people who have arranged events. We're off to Devon tomorrow to look at houses!

NO WAY!

Anagram Sat 02-Jun-12 18:26:19

Have you actually got a red dress, jeni?

Jacey Sat 02-Jun-12 18:27:37

Well you could go 'white dress' ...which would sort of be what they're suggesting ...then and a 'colour' for the wrap hmm
Or ...you could wear all your diamonds for the "white" grin

Decisions, decisions ...such a hard life jeni crown

Do you want to blend or stand out? flag

Sitting in garden reading....nice and hot here, though a bit breezy! Planted up containers in front garden this morning - as well as putting in two sunflowers which should lean happily against the house wall as we have a sunny 'frontage'! smile

Today I have been a BBC News presenter, sat in the chair behind the news desk, read from the autocue. I could see my image on the monitor --- I just hope our DIL didn't press the button to send it out live !!!!!!
Next time I see BBC news I will see where I sat.

DIL is a director with BBC news, she gave us a guided tour of the studios today, fascinating, I didn't realise just how complicated it all was. The studio was packed with cameras and lights, hardly room for the presenter and weather girl.

The control room where our DIL works was packed with dozens of monitors and several huge banks of control switches etc, brining live feeds from all over the world.

The BBC radio desk was a little different, one guy, one girl and a couple of desks.

What did surprise me was the number of journalists that backed up the news I guess 20/30 of them.

Very interesting day, and we only went out to buy some baby clothes.

Never again !!! angry
Brought a "tomato house" in the spring, you know the sort, easy to put up, with a plastic cover with two large zips to do it up with, Its nice and big , fits up to three tomato plants in it and me!
The draw back on the design of it is the fact that it has a flat "roof" which was ok when we had those few days of summer wink ,but now that it is raining non stop it has shown up the flaw of the design. The rain collects on top of the grow house and the "roof" dips with the weight of the water causing the grow house to rip !
I know I thought, I will pop outside un zip the zip and push the "roof" upwards with my hands. I did with my hand inside the growhouse and the rest of me outside BIG mistake. I was soaked angry. But not to be out done I came up with plan B ,every few hours I now climb into the growhouse its good I am a short arse and while I am inside I am able to push the "roof" back up and shake off the rain water.
I have been doing this for most of the day so not in the best of moods at the moment ! If anyone should see a tomato house next time they are in a garden centre , leave it there, do not buy, that is unless you are short and you have nothing better to do with yourself on a rainy day wink

gracesmum Sun 03-Jun-12 22:47:39

But it passes the time eh?
