Yes, of course it was a tease, gally smile How's your tooth? Have the antibiotics kicked in yet? I hope so.

Gally Thu 07-Jun-12 09:20:52

I knew it was Bags!! Not doing much yet after nearly a week - beginning to panic a bit shock not to mention feeling a bit zonked out

Bags Thu 07-Jun-12 09:23:20

But, since you don't seem to have noticed, I am one of those dreadful people who is not afraid of climate change. Actually, the talk now is of a cooling phase — far more worrying than warming, but humanity has coped with it before so no doubt we will again. Time will tell.

I'll take my teasing on this subject elsewhere now smile

Bags Thu 07-Jun-12 09:24:56

Oh dear re the tooth! How awful! I really hope something can be done before you head off on your travels! Can your daughter sort any dental appointments for you in Oz? flowers

Bags Thu 07-Jun-12 09:26:33

jacey, come on now, be reasonable! Talk to a real person! Whatever next?

Some people have such unrealistic expectations! wink

soop Thu 07-Jun-12 12:58:17

Gally Hope that your jippy tooth is showing you some respect. If not, best get it sorted soonest. (hug)

Just heard from DS1 who has managed to get his caravan back from stormy Devon. they gave up in the face of howling gales and took seven hours to get back from Woolacombe (spelling?) to Sandhurst because everyone else was deserting Devon as well. Good to know that they're all safe and sound. I'll be seeing them at the weekend.

whenim64 Thu 07-Jun-12 20:46:50

Oh, what a shame they had to move away from Devon. Glad they're all ok Annobel smile

Bags Thu 07-Jun-12 22:21:02

Thinking about what I'll need for a scout camp over the weekend. Winter clothes, waterproofs, storm lashings for the tents.

Annobel Thu 07-Jun-12 22:40:52

What jolly fun, Bags. grin

Bags Thu 07-Jun-12 22:52:27

It had better be! grin

Butternut Fri 08-Jun-12 06:23:03

I went to Blaydon Races
'Twas on the 9th of June
Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Two
On a Summer's Afternoon
We took the bus from Balmbras
And she was heavy laden
Away we went along Collingwood Street
That's on the Road to Blaydon

Chorus:

Oh me lads, you should've seen us gannin'
Passing the folks along the road
just as they were stannin'
Aal the lads and lasses there
aal wi' smilin' faces
Gannin along the Scotswood Road
To see the Blaydon Races

Good morning all, I hope bags is fairing better with the weather for her camping trip, the poor runners in the Blaydon Races are going to get very very wet today.

AlieOxon Sat 09-Jun-12 12:10:56

You just had me singing this at the top of my voice!

glassortwo Sat 09-Jun-12 12:12:34

You sounded note perfect AlieOxon grin I have had it playing in my head all morning.

harrigran Sat 09-Jun-12 16:41:05

Dry here glass so am hoping the runners will avoid a soaking.
DD did the race a few years ago and she said it was great but the weather was completely different smile

Ariadne Sat 09-Jun-12 18:09:46

Back from Devon and yes, the traffic on Thursday was horrendous. But we have an offer in for a house down there, and ours is under offer, so it was a profitable trip. Fingers crossed time as the solicitors get to work....slowly, I imagine? Am trying not to get excited. DD did the second viewing for us and confirmed that it was definitely for us. DG1 loved it because she could see herself popping in during a free Y 12 lesson!

jeni Mon 11-Jun-12 18:19:52

Just spoken to DD, she had her 1st 1/2 day back at work today! She was fine but she is sure Dgdd had been crying and wasn't happy when collected! I do hope things get better over the week![sad\
