The song 'Imagine'

I just love the song " imagine " soooo much , for what it"s worth cannot abide McCartney or SIR as we are supposed to call him

Oh well, maybe it's just a blip on mine. I had a listen on the iMac but that's upstairs and not where I usually 'do' gransnet.

No they don't. But I can usually get Jings links on my ipad2. It doesn't support flash and I don't think the latest one does either!

I have yet to learn why Greatnan considers the song 'Imagine' to be 'rank hypocricy' - I did ask....

I guess it was my post Greatnan took to be personal. Just trying to express my confusion at the view, that appeared to me to say celebrities who lived/worked abroad = did not like their birthplace and so if they spoke well of it were therefore hypocrites. I was challenging the view that living /working away from birthplace meant you did not like it..obviously did not do it very well!

I got (or, rather, DH got for me) one of the first iPads in the country. (He's like that). So it doesn't do Flash Player. I expect the newer versions can.

I really don't mind being questioned about my reasons for leaving England, even the unwarranted assumption that I must hate the land of my birth.
As far as I am concerned, this thread has run its course so my apologies to John Lennon, Billy Connolly and Sean Connery who may have been hurt by my comments.

I think we have to be careful not to take innocent remarks as being attacks on our own, perhaps slightly over-sensitive, sensibilities. (and any other emoticons that can deflect any more sniffiness)

Well, I am just expressing my honest opinion too, and certainly don't feel I have made a personal attack on anyone. Life is much too short to get into a huff about a forum topic, but if you post you must be prepared for someone to disagree with you.

I think that honest opinions, even if they are controversial, should not give rise to personal attacks on any member.

To be fair, some of the comments made have been quite contravertial (sp?).
