Have a wonderful time, soop! Give the wee man a hug from us.

annodomini Wed 19-Sept-12 10:54:47

Have a lovely tome soop. And you will be far too busy with all your family - especially 'the wee man' - to give 'us lot' a second thought! smile sunshine

soop Wed 19-Sept-12 10:42:38

jeni and maniac Memories are made of whatever it was you were up to...so to speak. Sounds like a whole lot of fun. grin

I've popped in for a very brief "fix". Can't stay too long. Tomorrow is a big day for us. After leaving ample birdseed and nuts and tins of cat food [our friends keep an eye on our creatures], we set off on the first leg of our journey south. The annual family gathering in Rutland, is organised for this weekend, during which, we talk and laugh non-stop. I usually return home with a sore throat! Mr soop has taken the car to be checked. I've to make a final decision on what and what not to take. A big bag of "mindings" is ready for the trip. Give us a wee thought, especially noon on Saturday...about the time that our wee man will walk through the door. smile
It goes without saying...I shall miss you lot. Lots of hugs all round.

whenim64 Wed 19-Sept-12 10:14:16

Welcome back, Jeni smile

annodomini Wed 19-Sept-12 09:53:14

Good to have you back, jeni. What have you done with Maniac?

Alie - sympathy! A sick computer requires TLC and a strange one is no substitute. See you in October.

AlieOxon Wed 19-Sept-12 09:47:08

Hi all. I have had a sick computer, which is still poorly and I don't know when I will get it back. I managed yesterday to borrow this laptop and am struggling ot come togrips with it! There are things I can't do like go back and put a space in.....or take one out.
I don't like the controls and I hate the lack of mouse!
I have managed this morning to sort hte email but I have 100 emails there and can't face them yet! It thinks my family history stuff is spam and I can't move it...arrgh.
Back later.

Butternut Wed 19-Sept-12 09:38:29

Jeni Good to see you back! smile

jeni Wed 19-Sept-12 09:29:07

morning all!
we are back in one piece .

i intend to say nothing about maniac wandering around Jerusalem hand in hand with a young manshock.
Or even about her being kissed by a judge every day! (she was also seen reading the Daily Mail!!!!!!!!)

We have kept sort of an eye on you all. daren't get on the scales for at least another week.sad

Anagram Tue 18-Sept-12 17:47:02

Ariadne, you are a marvel! So glad everything's gone well after the initial setbacks, and now you've got a bit of breathing space before the next leg! smile

Ariadne Tue 18-Sept-12 17:32:55

Empty house! I have cleaners coming in tomorrow, then really, that is it. Little pang to see the lorry going off down the road, though.

Out for dinner with friends tomorrow, complete Thursday, another farewell then off to DS2 in Cheltenham, in convoy (not! that's what Thesues thinks..)

I was asleep by 8.30 last night, and didn't wake up until 6.00!

Thank you for all your support - it is so nice that you all seem to understand completely how I feel. xxxxx

soop Tue 18-Sept-12 14:12:26

Ariadne I can sense your excitement. Keep us well informed. smile

Gagagran Tue 18-Sept-12 06:50:53

Glad to hear all is going well Ariadne and the weather has been kind I think.

The fun bit starts now - settling into your new home and neighbourhood!

JessM Tue 18-Sept-12 06:41:12

Well done - phase one of the project completed. I trust phase 2 goes smoothly - after your project management efforts I expect it will. I moved house about a dozen times during my first marriage and one learning point that stuck was - you don't have to wear yourself out trying to unpack everything in a day! Take your time.

Ariadne Tue 18-Sept-12 06:15:16

Morning all! Yesterday went very smoothly, and they are in again to finish off the packing. So here we are, in a nice little local hotel, having a cup of coffee (I always take proper coffee bags with me!) planning today. People from Emmaus coming to pick up old furniture, window cleaner in...

Thanks for all your good wishes, folks.

Ella46 Mon 17-Sept-12 22:25:21

Best wishes Ariadne I hope your move is smooth and happy sunshine

Welcome back Jess You were missed smile

JessM Mon 17-Sept-12 16:24:47

I'm impressed - Ariadne so well organised she is managing to post on GN - on the day she moves house!!! Chilled or what?

soop Mon 17-Sept-12 11:15:58

Welcome back to Gransnet Jess. You were missed.
Ariadne This is the day that you've been waiting for. Well done. You're in my thoughts as you embark on a new adventure in Devon. flowers

Oldgreymare Mon 17-Sept-12 10:03:51

Happy'moving day' Ariadneand welcome to the West Country! (hope you have your wellies packed, we moved from Herts 30 years ago and noticed a difference in rainfall amounts straight away!)
Jess pleased to see you are back and had a good holiday (despite the cakes!)
Avoided ALL bugs on the allottment, but not the secateurs.... ouch! sad

Ariadne Mon 17-Sept-12 09:47:39

I am now sitting here (until they take the settee) while 4 lovely men rush round with boxes. Theseus is having a lovely time, going to the tip, to our charity depot, and unplugging things (like the wi fi router) that I then plug back in!

annodomini Mon 17-Sept-12 09:41:42

All the best for the move, Ariadne. I hope it's as lovely a day in Devon as it is here, to welcome you and augur well for your future there. sunshine

Glad to have you back, Jess.
